I know my IWEs are bad too. Feel that rumbling feel in the front at low speeds intermittently that will go completely away in 4A or 4H. Dealer's are frustrating with how quick they are to say they didn't find anything.
I'm 99% sure Ford has a TSB to check if the IWE is making a noise and the truck is under warranty, that solution is to say that the tech couldn't hear shit.
My 14 years ago was under Premiumcare. IWE was going out, Making the noise going into the service bay. Couldn't replicate...

Traded it in, and sure enough it got fixed right away. Probably has a customer nope out of a deal when they heard that.

I like Ford, but it seems their dealers are too cheap to hire competent people but still charge $200 a hour for labor.
My local dealer had a handful of master techs retire around COVID. since then, meh. Service advisor is checked out too.

Definitely a lack of care and trying to save a buck is mostly what it boils down to. My Dad was a Senior Master ford tech up until he passed in 2017. He was frustrated at the lack of care as well. They'd opt to give work to the new/inexperienced techs just to keep from paying him.

I’m old so hopefully not repeating a prior post. My 2021 (may be 2022, not even sure omg) has 36k and starting to have issues. After a cold start on cold day, tranny will hold gears high into RPM range. Other day, in 10 degree temos, after cold start shifted into reverse and it didn’t move. I took foot off gas, shifted to drive, heard it shift, went back into reverse and was ok.
I hate to deal with any repairs even though I have Geico MBI which is excellent coverage I just may trade in.

Ohh Wow..I thought they would have had the IWE issue all taken care of. I thought they went to motors on the newer fords for the IWEs. The extended warranty may be worth it for this alone, that’s providing its fixed properly though. I chased the IWE issue on my prior truck. Hopefully this is not a repeat scenario.

MY2022 with 45k on it. Just about to do all of the fluid changes for the most part myself. I change the oil every 5k and rotate the tires. I had a bad battery from the factory and all 4 shocks were replaced due to clunking. No other issues were mechanical. I got an 8-year 150k warranty on it from Flood before CA made out-of-state warranties illegal for $3k.

The 10 speed is very fluid/temp picky. I've always noticed harsh/clunky shifts when the trans temps are cold. I always let it warm up as much as I can before heading down the road. Motor warms up quick, but the transmission sometimes takes 25 miles of driving to get to 185 degrees. These tend to run better at higher temps. I've also heard that many were underfilled from the factory...not saying that's your issue, but could attribute to the issues cold you're describing.

2021 with just under 60K. Pretty sure at least one of the IWEs need replaced, just haven't had time to get it into the shop. Have extended warranty to 125K. I've done front/rear diff/transfercase fluid exchanges. Transmission fluid/filter. Replaced the rear diff cover with the fP one and the transmission pan with the B&M one for easier fluid service. I plan on keeping it long term since the newer ones seem to come with less an less for more and more. I tow regularly with mine (6x8 trailer and 20' boat). Replaced the tires around 45K miles. Planning for a shock rebuild in the next year or so.
Have you done a coolant flush yet? I have a post from sunday about help with my first coolant flush.

Like many of you guys, I like doing many of the maintenance items myself. Has anyone with an extended warranty claim been denied if you’re not having the maintenance services done by Ford ?

They technically can’t do that but to avoid the headache I keep a receipt of all of my fluid purchases and I take a picture of each service being done or sometimes a video. I write the milage on the oil filter and put my initials on it.
