Installed mine yesterday. Can I just say... this was a bitch of an install! Super tight clearances getting the new pipes in. All in all maybe 1.5 hours spent mainly because I had to run to the parts store for a longer extension. Immediately took the truck out for about 40 miles in the dirt traveling 100 miles on the highway both ways. Honestly I could feel a difference. Turbos spool much faster and power seems to hit earlier in the rev band. Well worth the money. Unlike the CAI...

No. They are a restriction there to reduce noise, not help flow.

I would think those rings would cause the intake to be louder as the air hitting the fins. But I’m pretty sure that where the passenger side oem pipe was flared out and contained what I’m going to call an intake muffler that looked like an internal air filter was there for noise reduction. Does anyone have any knowledge of the actual purpose of these rings? Some say noise reduction, some say to “spin” the air.

it they were beneficial, i'm sure AMS would have put that into the install guide?

Novice question, but I have a CVF IC coming. Would it be easier to install the boost tubes at same time while IC is off? Didnt know if it created any more room to work.

Ok sorry if I’m beating a dead horse but I am getting these tubes delivered in a couple days, and I’m stuck on either leaving out or transferring in those finned “silencers” in the stock tubes, all over the web some say they are just silencers, others say if your running an intake like the factory 2 to 1 tube you need them to change direction of airflow and turbulence, did anyone with this kind of intake do the install and can you please give feedback as to the outcome of leaving out or transferring in?
