Airbags?

Naturally, the guy I spoke with wasn't positive of the exact need for the rear spacer but together we assume it provided constant contact with the bag thus reducing the ability for a rock or some sharp object to get in between the bag and cause an issue. We did confirm the Airlift 1000 universal kit uses the same bag 69027 (the largest bag in that series). The only difference is the bottom spacer they are shipping me a pair for less than $30. He indicated you should be able to do your thing offroad without removing the bags but recommended a low PSI when doing so.

I'm more wondering if they are planning to make a 1000HD kit or it's more worth using their designed spacers with the equiv 1000HD bag for extra load handing and hopefully longevity? I've read the standard 1000 (non-HD) bags don't generally last that long.

Would the airbags at minimum pressure impact the rider or be noticeable?

I can't imagine these bags are going to last long if your regularly driving the truck as it was designed to be used. As I have it setup now the bag at the top end does not contact the truck until it squats a few inches.
With the bottom mount piece in the raptor specific pkg the bag would make contact all the time. I would think at 5-10 PSI your not going to notice, but that is just a guess.

What pressure are you running in the bag for this? I'm strongly considering this addition to my Overland setup.

Currently at 8ish PSI but again I don't have the bottom spacer in so the bag does not make contact with the upper end of the spring unless I have a load.

@cscape just thought it is such a cheap mod and reasonably easy to install/remove if not using the bottom spacer. You may just give it a go and see how it affects things for the way you use the truck.

Hey guys Air Lift just came out with a gen3 specific kit. Part # AIL60865 , got mine from Michigan Truckspring, didn’t install it yet, but looks good.

Ill need to check them out. I installed the Dodge Air spring coils that seem to be working well. I drop om;u 3/4 of am inch under load. Before the air bag, I squatted almost 3 inches.

Hmm, explain your thoughts on removing/installing. Maybe install the spacers and install the bags for towing season and remove them in the fall? I know some of them can be jammed in… Jack the truck up and extend the coils for installation/removal?

Mine arrive tomorrow - will have to check them out for that purpose.

Yes, you can jack the truck up, deflate the bags and push them in relatively easily, removal is the opposite. If you use the spacer setup for the raptor it would appear the springs have to come completely out.
