Naturally, the guy I spoke with wasn't positive of the exact need for the rear spacer but together we assume it provided constant contact with the bag thus reducing the ability for a rock or some sharp object to get in between the bag and cause an issue. We did confirm the Airlift 1000 universal kit uses the same bag 69027 (the largest bag in that series). The only difference is the bottom spacer they are shipping me a pair for less than $30. He indicated you should be able to do your thing offroad without removing the bags but recommended a low PSI when doing so.
