It actually looks like injen is using donaldsons filter media (nanofiber).
The big difference is the way they use the filter element, donaldsons powercore actually packs in a crap ton more surface area due to the nature of its design. Which is how they are able to do 100k miles vs xxk miles of an injen filter.
(if you think about it for a second it will make sense, just look at how the air enters into each filter)
powercore's structure

THe injen is using the same material just in the "normal" way where its one barrier for the air to pass thru, the powercore could actually end up being filtered multiple times as it moves vertically through the element.
Donaldson says their filter removes 3 times more dust than traditional cellulose filters. INJEN says their Nanofiber Web filter removes 5 times more dust than traditional cellulose filters. Change the INJEN filter for a Donaldson you say. Ya I'll get right on that.
Don't take this the wrong way! Do you work for Volant or Donaldson? You seem to have a pretty Big Hard-On for them.
Reguarding this thread,happened to it...
It just amuses me how upset you are getting that I like my CAI and did not fall for your scare tactics and change it to the Donaldson. I think Donaldson makes the best material Nanofiber for tramping particles and yes injen uses that same Nanofiber supplied to them by Donaldson. To tell someone to change the INJEN filter without knowing how well it works is just strange .
