Simpson Honda GC190 MegaShot 3100-PSI 2.5-GPM Gas Pressure Washer-MSH3125-S - The Home Depot

this is the best bang for the buck i could find... its a honda and has 2.5 GPM im not looking to strip concrete or anything crazy... i just want something stronger than a garden hose to wash off the mud and not spend $20-30 at the car wash every time... will this be suitable and safe to use on the trucks paint and under carriage?
the only issue you will run into is if you are too close when you hit the side steps, you can take the lining off. i somehow ran over paint and had to use a pressure washer to get it off. i got a little too close to the side steps and it started to come off. no issues with paint as long as there are no spots missing paint. otherwise it will get under it and take it off as well.

GMP X PSI = Effective Cleaning Power.
That being said, many advertisements focus on PSI.
PSI with low GMP = not much power several feet from the nozzle.
My pressure washer is rated at 2600 psi at 2.9GPM
So, I bought a glycerin filled gauge and got a surprise.
I have changed the hose & gun & pressure relief valve which may be contributing to the gauge readings.
At 2600psi the motor boggs down. I can etch stone at 2200psi pin point.
I have the washer set at 1200psi - 1500psi with an adjustable fan nozzle. Do Not go pin point!
And Do Not use a turbo nozzle on your vehicle.
There are all sorts of attachments you can buy for pressure washers to get in the tight places.
You can even buy water broom attachment & gutter cleaners.
I have gone thru about 3 or 4 gauges. They usually vibrate themselves to death,
but they are handy to have when there is manually adjustable pressure valve.
You should be fine with a 2.5GPM or above.

Gas is where its at. Go cheap and you'll burn through the crappy electrics once a year, pony up for the gas and it'll last.

Just checked mine it's a John Deere 3300 psi. No issues with taking off paint or anything. Just use a wide fan tip nozzle. It still strips all the dirt off no problem though

I have Troy Built from Lowes, 3000 psi, 2.7 gpm, Honda engine. It works great, only thing that would be nice is a shorter wand, to make it easier to get under the vehicle.

I have a gas with the Honda Motor that kicks ass couple weeks ago I went to Lowes and bought the most expensive electric Power washer and it sucks in comparison, it'll work as long as the truck isn't too dirty or muddy, but to be honest a nice hose gun would probably work just as good.
