I had the dealer install a PowerGate in mine and I love it. It just locks and unlocks with the rest of my doors. I never leave my truck unlocked, so the tailgate is always locked.

I ordered mine with the step, and I really do like it. I just helped a buddy move a piece of furniture and it sure made it easy. Yeah, you don't NEED it, but it's pretty cool and convenient to have on occasion. Honestly I don't care much for the midget stripper pole though.

My current truck has one (that I didn't want) and I used it a ton when I moved last year. When asked about it on order of for my Raptor (by same salesman) I said heck yea! He just started laughing because he remembered how much I was making fun of it on this truck. It's very convenient!

So the new tailgate with a step is 5k? Wow. Do you have black truck? If you lived close I'd trade you for the one on my truck before I trade it. haha

Not black, if it was I would be drivin to Wyoming tomorrow. Great feature, wish it was an easier upgrade.

Am I hearing this right, Ford makes TWO (2) different tailgates for the Raptor, one that accepts the tailgate step and grab pole and one that does not. Does that not seem rather STUPID in terms of efficient manufacturing when you might consider (and I don't know) that all them Ford F150s have tailgates and they may (not necessarily) interchangeable across the entire line ie with the Raptor tailgate.

Therefore, Why could you not just buy the "PARTS" and reconfigure your tailgate?

Now, this is probably naive on my part, but if American Manufacturers are to save themselves, they best start thinking in these terms or someone should aftermarket copy the OEM parts!

Just Saying!

HAHA, well I tried. It doesn't really get me any more money on trade so I don't really need it. I really just don't understand why they wouldn't make it a parts swap from the same tailgate.. Doesn't seem cost effective.
