Achieving 406 ft/lbs on lower shock nut

Easiest way to achieve 406 ft/lbs on lower shock nut?

I'm going to be installing a pair of Icon LCA skid plates and they attach to the lower shock nut. What is the easiest way to get the required 406 ft/lbs? Would an impact wrench rated at 433 ft/lbs be too much for it?

I'm sort of a noob at this stuff but I'm trying to learn more about working on my Raptor, I actually enjoy it.

It's a good question, as the typical 3/4 inch drive torque wrench falls something short of 400 ft-lbs. There's really two questions here:
- How to generate that much torque, and
- How to measure it.

How do you measure how much torque you're applying when using a torque multiplier? Hockster, do you just set the torque wrench to one-third the intended torque when you use your 3 to 1 multiplier?

check on tool rental places. They might have wenchs that go up that far. Right tool for the job

Yep 100 in = 300 out

I'm thinking more of a practical method, but it wouldn't be exact. Distance x force = the torque.
You'd have to get a large cheater bar, which we've all probably have used, but know it's not the safest method.

Ya they are, I have had mine for 10 years... Since I did fastener torque testing I used one many times cause we couldnt get some torque to yield on many things. With the new electric DC nut runners its now easy to get max torque. Probably cheaper to ship mine to people lol... Not sure if auto parts stores have them to rent out. I bet that a large truck repair company has one since its so easy to reach high torque with it.
