When I had my 2014 Platinum, this was a common theme for that generation F150s. All of us on the F150 forum were getting the rubber based pipe insulation and insulating the cold side under the hood. I did it right after I purchased my truck and it made a 4-5 degree temperature difference at the vent on hot days. I would typically see vent temps of 40-41 on a high 80s day.
Give the insulation a try, it worked for me back then. I just haven’t got around to doing it on the Raptor.
Like said above, AC performance is based on the environment. Regardless of the setup, you can’t expect 40s out of the vent on a 105 degree day when you’re not moving.
