How are you managing 13 in town?

i drive like a complete grandpa.
i think it has a lot to do with all the nanny systems that are on when i turn the truck on.

im slow to take off, i coast downhills, i dont use my brakes harshly.
dont get me wrong, offroad is another story.

What " nanny systems" are you speaking of?

that has more to do with my previous truck than whats factory on this truck.
the only thing i had on my little nissan frontier, was abs. no traction control, no throttle mappings, no shift points, disable abls, torsion lsd in the rear.
the frontier i got 13mpg in town too lol, but i was doing burnouts, little jumps, powerslides, little drifting ect. the list goes on.

all the factory nannies on this truck are nice, but it really helps keeping a leash on the gas pedal in traffic.

13.9 - 14.4 city with my boat anchor 5.4 and 37s.

On the freeway I managed 19.0 on my 75 mile drive home from work the other day. Usually i stay in the 15-17 range.

Im getting 7-9 Miles to the gallon in the city 11 on the high way, how are you guys getting such good mpgs lol

I get 15.5 to 16.5. There is one and only one fuel economy device that works on a 6,000 pound, high profile, high performance off-road truck powered by high performance 400+ horsepower V8: The Right Foot. Drive it like a kid and it'll hurt your feelings every time you fill up.

Aside from the weight, has anyone considered poor fuel quality.
Yup. I get 1-2mpg less using 87 vs 93 on good fuel (BP, Shell, Chevron).

Use crappy gas and it will drop another 2-3.

However, I'm gathering some long term data now on whether it will be cheaper to use 87 and get worse economy, or spend more on 93 and get better fuel economy.
