I spent ~ 3 days / 2 Nights over new years doing Mojave Road out in SoCal. What an awesome trail...full of cool history from hundreds of years ago!! Installed a new Rigid 40" Light bar before the trip also from SPV's killer year end closeout deal.

What suspension are you running out back for all that weight? I’m setting something up very similar

Eibach 1.5” Springs and the Airlift 1000 bag setup in the rear. I didn’t inflate the bags for this trip (they stay @ 5lbs). They rode great and the truck still felt balanced but you feel the weight in back.

I have RPG 1.5” front perches and RPG Full tie rods to round out the front end. I put the perches in before the Eibach kit was released for the truck. So I haven’t removed the fronts and put the Eibach springs in yet. Down the road.

What is your setup?

Initially I just had the 1.1” Eibach springs in the front, but realized the back would definitely need some help.

Now I have FRS in front and 1.5” Eibach in the rear. I haven’t loaded it with a rack and tent yet so I’m not sure how it’s going to handle it.

I like those wheels a lot.

I’d would put the springs in the rear, easy to install too. The bags are just as easy and if you’re putting a several hundred pounds in the rear, bags will be worth it.

When you installed the bags… where did you locate them (top or bottom) since you have the 1.5” lift? I have the 1.5” Geisers, and located them to the bottom. I felt like they had to go there to keep the rubber pads seated. This does leave the 1.5” gap on the top side and i find any weight in the rear immediately compresses those top coils until it rests to the top of the bag. I feel like the bag needs to be taller for the lift but am not finding straight answers yet. I’m planning to get on a call with Airlift to discuss. Do you have any insight on this?

I put the air hose through the top hat of the spring in the rear (if that answered your question). They only need ~5lbs for day to day and air it up when you’re ready for more weight or tow.

Sorry… in my effort to be specific, i made it confusing. I did the same with the air lines. I was trying to refer more to the actual air bag placement. With the added length of the spring, there is added room for that bag to shift up or down. I’m assuming you left it down on the rubber pad. That’s what i did. I guess my point is that we immediately lose that 1.5” lift on the top side as the bag stiffens the lower side when inflated. I.e. you’re guaranteed that 1.5” squat under load plus whatever the airbag doesn’t hold. Personal opinion is that we should have a slightly taller bag with aftermarket lift springs.
