How is it worse than the front paw Land Rover or Jeep?

I'm basing it on what I have grown to know from SUVs and other offroad vehicles....they were all rear-wheel drive or AWD (Landcruiser). To me SUV=RWD. I know times are changing and that's cool.

As for the FWD Rover and Jeep, are they classified as full-sized SUVs and do they top out at $48K? Maybe the Rover but, for buying purposes, it never even crossed my mind. The closest competitor to the new Explorer is the new Grand Cherokee and I doubt that's running FWD (could be wrong).

Again, most of this is just my opinion. Take it for what it is worth.

I wasnt talking about price competitoin, the point is that like the 4x4 Explorers of old, the Jeep (Compass and Patriot) and Land Rover names are built on off roading ability. The 4x2s on them are not any more capable than a regular crossover. The new Explorer is probably not as bad off road as people think...

Winner

I have to say I am excited about this vehicle because I think the old explorer is a little dated honestly I was thinking about buying a edge for the fam about 6 months ago to be the French fry mobile because the escape was to small. But that being said I ordered a raptor
The 2011 explorer looks like a perfect option for most suv/crossover buyers I was hesitant about it because of some of the leak pics I saw but seeing more detailed pics it looks like another winner for ford
