fingers crossed... lol

Well, it went more than 300 miles, but it is back. What a drag

I had my local dealer, replace the boot and grease the yoke-- no more clunk. It is more than likely a service issue.

Now, I am on to fixing my broken fuel door filler thing. I can not believe for a 50-60 grand truck Ford puts on a flimsy gas door with no cap? wtf FORD , what were your Indian born engineers thinking when they designed that chit?

jamanrr, which boot did they replace?

grantoser: your dealer is giving you BS. Reading from the Ford notice I received JUN 2011, it says: "Ford Motor Company is providing a no-charge customer satisfaction program (program number 11B25) for your vehicle, with VIN shown above.." And, the notice had my VIN. It goes on to say Ford has authorized your dealer to inspect the driveshaft and if necessary, replace it free of charge (parts and labor) under the terms of this program.

Technically it may not have been called a "recall", but it clearly provides the dealer the OK to replace the driveshaft it it is exhibiting the clunk. My recommendation is elevate it someone at that dealership that has common sense and customer service skills. If that can't be found, find another dealer. Might help to contact the original owner (if possible) to see if he received that notice from Ford.

Sounds good... Thanks for writing this out for me. There have been 2 owners before me and both were sold through dealers so I don't think I could ever find the original owner. I will tell them to look up the "customer satisfaction program" instead of the tsb... Maybe that'd help...

Does anyone have a photo of that letter by chance? Might help to be able to take a copy in with me.

Hi grantoser,

Send me a PM with your details; I'm going to get this escalated up to your regional customer service manager (CSM). In your message, please include your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealership. Your CSM will reach out to your dealership and work on getting this resolved for you.

the drive shaft maintenance portion was a

the maintenance was 93.95 total and my drive shaft works good as new no more clunking. Hope this info helps.

Is that something that can be done at home?
Where do you buy the kit?
