I just called the dealer again and my truck is going in this friday instead of next friday. I bet it just needs to be greased but its better for them to look at it and make that determination as I only have 4K left on powertrain warranty.

I have the clunk as well, and this is going to sound crazy, but I learned a trick from an old school GM mechanic years ago because every GM truck I've ever owned had the same type of clunk. When removing the rear drive shaft from the transfer case, believe it or not, call me crazy if you will, but if you will literally stuff one of those little "jet-balls" (the kind that comes in the $.25 machines in stores and restaurants) into the hole in front of the yoke before installing the the driveshaft and of course grease it properly, it will normally get rid of that issue permanently. I have actually done this on several of my GM trucks and it worked like a charm.

I need to figure this out. Drove to IHOP this morning, parked, got the pancakes, backed out, put it in drive and 'clunk'. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does it feels like I got rear ended.

Racer, are you still clunk free? If so, I'm going to give greasing the splines a shot...

My 2010 is still clunk free since lubing the slip joint. I've put about 8k miles on it since the grease job.

Thanks for the update! Unfortunately this fix is beyond my capabilities, so I am going to take it to my mechanic for some grease.
