Give it a few days. It's the size of the shaft that makes it chirp over time, the lube helps for a while.


I used a $65 tube of moly paste on mine before the new driveshaft came in, it still came back within a week or so.

Drive shaft slip?

Anybody else have their drive shaft slid back and forth when shifting from park to r or d? It is the source of my clicking/clunk noise. Neighbor was poking under there while I shifted back and forth.

Mine feels like I get rear ended everytime I stop then it makes a jolt when I start moving again.

Ford put out a service bulletin about this a while back, take it in and have them check it out

The driveshaft on my truck was not included in the TSB for this clunk. I pulled the driveshaft and lubed the splines with high quality grease. It's been clunk free for 12k miles so far.
It took less than 30 minutes to fix in my driveway....

He driveshaft has more slip than most vehicles because of the amount of travel the raptor has, so it's going to clunk at least a little bit, but it shouldn't feel like you're getting hit each time you shift like in kanakry's case

My neighbor said he saw it move. He said it slipped fwd and a loud click..almost like locking in. But it does it it with every gear selection, though not when running up or down while in drive. 2012 is the year. Dealer already regreased and also replaced the u joint

Is it a noticeable thud in the truck or does it just feel like a light bump?
