My Service Manager just called me and said that as of today 05/10/2011, Ford has released new TSB for the Clunk! This is the part that he rattled off to me very fast, so I may have written down wrong. P/N BL3Z4602J Sorry if that is wrong. He told he has the driveshaft and bolts on order for me. Will keep you all posted.

clunk

hi guys i am new to this forum. but i have owned many ford 4x4 trucks. one in particular a 77 f 150. after about 35 thousand miles i developed the clunk. truck was way out of warranty. it drove me nuts for awhile. i tried everything i could think of to cure it. finally pulled the rear drive shaft. low and behold the clunk went away. seems the splined slip yoke was the culprit. took it apart and greased it up. clunk went away. seems to be a different version of the same problem. actually was able to drive on the front driveshaft to verify.

Well being new, you may have not had a chance to look around the forum but it's been known for quite some time what the problem is. :waytogo:
