Yeah, that sounds like a tune quirk.

I've had an issue with traction this past week, but it's due to me nailing the pedal in 2nd and lighting up the tires at almost 50mph. I'm too burnt to post about it today, but will put the question out there to the Ford techs tomorrow morning. Look for a post on Traction Control...

When u say u are " burnt" don't you mean " baked" , lol.

I wanna see you rolling 50mph and "light" the tires.

Wait. Burnt. Baked. Light?.... There's a connection somewhere. Hmmmm

Thanks BDRAG! My interpretation of that is we should all recieve new 2 piece driveshafts on our next service. It shouldn't be limited to 2011's.

2 Piece drive shaft? I swear mine is one long SOB. With a decal that says scrap if dropped! HAhahaaaaaaaa. Really, one piece.

I can hear like a double squeak sound that I can't really describe during both take offs. Is it squeaky inside the cab, or is it more of the "clunky" sound used to describe the problem? And can you actually feel it?

Yea, I can feel it every now and then in the steering wheel.. Just no big deal most of the time.

Lol could hear ya coughin from here as you posted that. No, baking days were done 10-12 years ago now that I have a job where the feds can request a pee sample depending on what building I'm looking at.
Burnt refers to staring at a computer monitor since 4am.
And yeah - the roads here are mostly dry, but covered in a 1/4" of sand and dust from this winters snow melting attempts. It's easy to break traction and light up at high speeds.

Yeah we've all got 1 piece driveshafts, but people like SOCOM and I think others were talking about making 2 piece shafts for better performance.

How was the issue resolved?

removed the tune completely :). it shouldn't be hard for the tuner to fix though. they obviously raise the RPM at which the truck will shift to help catch the next gear a little higher and give the perception of faster acceleration. if the shift point RPM is set close to the rev limiter either they have to adjust the rev limiter or pull back on the RPMs at which the truck shifts. without knowing a damn thing about tuning i can almost guarantee it's a simple adjustment.

I did a little experiment today. Pulled the custom tune off and set it back to stock. I've come to the conclusion that it's a combination of what you explained above and the wheel hop/loss of traction that is already present w/ or w/o the tune. Add them together and it makes my ******** pucker up every damn time

Just bought a 2011 Raptor Screw which began manufacture during the week of 1/24 and has developed the same clunk which started at about 800 miles. Saw in previous postings that this problem was to be taken care of in models built after 1/7.....not. Whatever was done to address the problem doesn't seem to be working. Have an appointment for Wednesday at the dealer. Will see if I at least get a temporary fix.
