Howdy there,

Ive been in the market for a raptor for quite sometime. I held off for a while due to the cam phaser, timing chain noises. From what I read the 2020 models have “upgraded” cam phasers so I am all in.

stealerships in the centex area can be hard sells. But I found a 20my screw 801a with nav, spray liner, tint, and torsen front diff. I am getting it for sticker out the door 63,950. so actual sell price is about 4k under sticker.

good enough deal to spring on?

First off, welcome. Second, I'm going to go with "Need more research" as most talk is either 802a or bare stock. If memory serves me (Don't ask my wife about that one!), isn't the 802a package like $10k more? And a difference of about $7k from a 801? Seems most are finding 802's for 65-68 range so yours might be a tad high, but not much.

It's not a bad deal. So MSRP is 63950 and that's your OTD price.

The 801's have less markup, so it'll be harder to score a bigger discount IMO.

But it's hard to say as that most deals I've seen are for the 802's.

Thanks, yeah I see the 802a discounted around 66-67 but after you negotiate and pay taxes and fees that will be 70-72 for out the door price (actual cost). So this raptor I am looking at I am getting for 59,9 sell price but actual out the door is 63,9.

Then by all means, grab it and run! And send me a Double Double if you think of it!

$4k off sticker is about what I paid for my 801a. TTL varies enough from state to state that comparing sales price is more accurate. I get to pay 8.25% sales tax plus title and license, for example. Out the door at MSRP would have been a screaming deal ...

I got my 18 in aug of 2017 with 801a and a bunch of add on for sticker 61745 plus Tt

What’s your sticker

sticker on this 2020 is 63,835. Ive also got a deal where I can get a 2019 802a with 6k miles on it. The truck is certified and has a bed cover and the bead lock rims. I can get it for 68099 out the door (so about 64k sell price).

Im leaning towards the 2020 801a simply because it appears to depreciate slower when I compare values 2 years out and 30k miles on them.

Do you plan on selling it in two years? Then that's a consideration. If not, dont get wrapped up with stuff that doesnt matter, they all depreciate, if it is a big consideration, buy a used 2018, let someone else take the initial hit on value.

I just built mine as a 2020 as I ordered it, 65785 plus TT

I will have had my Raptor for 3 years in August, I'd sell my wife before this truck...talk about depreciation. lol
