Mine ships today and I asked for Mike to install an 87 an 89 and a 92 tune based on my local fuel stops. The 92 for shredding, 89 for commutes, and the 87 to meet my cross country mileage expectations on loooong trips.
Should I stop him and ask for a transmission pack as well?

Can I get an amen
Amen on getting your truck!
But speaking from inside Raptor experience as a supplier (past carreer) the wait is worth it.
The Dearborn plant where the Raptor comes from peels select F150 chassis off the line and takes them to a dedicated SVT assembly area where they are painstakingly assembled by a elite group of assembles that had to apply and be awarded the position on the SVT side.
With that said I was told that for every 300 F150s produced one Raptor in created. I think the ratio is even more extreme to be honest.

In comparison while the truck was in prototyping it took Fox suspension almost two years to be accepted as the designated shock for the truck. Over 200 valve and damping configurations submitted on several high performance racing shock platforms.

I'm also curious about the transmission pack. Can anyone elaborate? I'm still going back and forth as to whether or not to pick up a tuner from 5Star (especially with them being on sale for about another week). Would really like to smooth out the hard shifts, and improve the MPGs as well as have a tune for some serious get up and go! Back of my mind keeps telling me that this could void my warranty though...

Hmm I got a tune from 5 star and this is the first I heard of a transmission pack. The truck def shifts better now but once in a while it has a rough shift down or a hard 2nd shift while barely on the throttle on rare occasion.

" Had mike send me a revised transmission tune" from Beemerman back on page 2 of the thread is what made me enquire.

Beemerman?

Share your knowledge bro.

I just spoke to 5 star.
All the tuners come with preprogrammed transmission shift schedules.
For example the 87 program is mapped to shift a little later (economy mode).
If you have a 92 or 93 program it will shift earlier and harder (high performance mode).
If needed he can revise the transmission tune based on specefic direction for a given program.

I like the revised trans tune for off roading, it holds the trans in gear longer. But you can really do the same by selecting the gears manually via the shift button on the side of the shifter. It's not real good for fuel mileage though. But when I am on the road for any distance I change the tune back to 87. Or whatever fuel I am using. just another option. But it does take a few drive cycles to get the trans to adapt. 5 star does a very good job with these tunes I think. Jack

is it just me or is the thick tubed hose from AFE a bit loose on the engine side? connects nicely to the intake, but very loose on the other end. AM I alone here?

^ it may need to be tightened, I am running 103 octane on stalk engain E-30 but am supposed to get the 5 stare at some point the AFE is louder than the SW headers and S-Type mufflers lol but sounds cool. I love the manual mode as long as I don't forget and wonder why ant she shifting lol good thing there is a rev limiter. this is a hard thing to do but if I can keep my foot out of her gas she gets 14+ before the CAI and headers it was 12 both with e-30 I ran what was in it from dealer than put in 4 tanks of 93 octane before switching to e-30 and have ran e-30 ever since
