I have had no reason to run anything above 87 in my truck.. So, I can not tell you the difference between tunes. (besides 87 econ, stock, preformance)

Greg, how much difference did you really see running either of the 87 tunes?

My butt dyno says the performance is about the same. The major difference is the shifting range is a little different. Performance shifts later (higher rpm) and quicker/less slip (higher line pressure?).. The econ tries to get in a higher gear quicker, seems like more overlap (slipping) during gear changes. All the tunes get rid of delay (goofy drive by wire) throttle.. Performance the ratio on throttle opening is higher verses econ (more pedal travel)..
I am sure I am forgetting some stuff that is the basics.. Mike@5star (or anyone else) can correct me if I am wrong..

ya my only gripe with the 87 perf is the shift in 6th gear, it hangs onto 5th till like 47mph and by then 5th is at like 1.7k rpms. must only bother me cause im not use to it

Ummm hard to say, placebo effect.. I knew performance tune was loaded and I would be in the throttle all the time.. And when econ was loaded I would drive in manual mode locked in 6th gear on the highway.. I have seen 15-12mph consistantly over 7100 miles.. With 87 performance tune!

Yes, it seems to hold it a little higher RPM with performance especially, the 5th to 6th shift.. And it is quick to downshift to 5th..

Ive been messing around with the 87 econ/perf for a little now, I was avg'n about 12.3 with perf and right at 14 with econ. Plan on running a tank of 91 thru then trying out the 91 perf, been told it is totally worth it.

There's all kinds of switches on the dash panel to control the transmission. Wouldn't it be nice to have one labled "Performance"? Even one labled "Stupid" would be better than nothing!

It be cool if we could add a "Flip Chip" and use a Aux switch to flip the chip.
Just a theory though
