It's a known issue.I just got a 2020 raptor I'm loving it got 53000 on the od but I may be paranoid and hopefully someone will ease my mind it smokes like he'll even after a good warm up especially in sports mode when in normal mode it doesn't but when I park regardless of which mode I'm in it smells like something is burning.
The sad part is that’s not too far fetched. It was not uncommon to have vehicles come in with 20k miles or more still on the original oil and filter. The record was 40k miles, but the engine was knocking at that point, which was the customer’s concernHe just bought it, so I'm guessing 53000 between oil changes.
It's probably dealer installed tire shine burning off the hot bits.
My buddy is a mechanic in one of the expensive parts of town, he had a minivan come in with 100k miles, all original. The sad part is that’s not too far fetched. If people saw the condition of the vast majority of trade ins they’d never buy them afterward. It seems many people have plenty of money for McDonald’s and Starbucks as evidenced by the interior, but evidently not enough to have their oil changed. The detail department cleans them up and on the used lot they go.
