Haha no man but plug and play is a good thing you know?

Right up until it doesn't work!

It's just a positive and negative wire. You can connect it any way you want - just choose something that is reasonably water resistant since it's going to get wet in that location.

If I recall, I think I hard wired mine as it just came with bare wires.

It's way easier for water to permeate and ruin plugs than butt connectors with either heat shrink or a heat shrink wrap. In fact only one wire even has to be connected to the firewall thru wire. The other is just grounded.

Too late and when I spoke to Alex@Rigid they said it wouldn't void my warranty if I cut that off.

In the end I bought some 14gauge wire, cut the old connector off and then heat shrinked 3 connections under the hood and terminated the ground wire. Tested it off the battery and the light worked as expected. Going to return all that Rigid noise as its not needed.

Now I just have to do the pass through. Can I just cut some of the factory black heat shrink off or is it easier just to cut that entire black part off and strip the wire below it?

DONT CUT THE CONNECTOR OFF THE RIGID!!

It will void your warranty, no questions asked.

We sell the harness for $20 shipped

Not true. I had mine cutoff and sent it in for warranty for a moisture issue. They never said a thing about it and when it came back they put a new connector back on, no questions asked.
