Looks good. But why not 55w?

TRS recommends not to run a 55w system in the Morimoto projector. Reason - it can deform the projector and shroud. That being said, I did run a 55w system in my recons for a few months without a problem, although I was not using a shroud. I can tell you that with the 55w you would burn the shit out of your hand if you touched any part of the projector while it was running. The 35w I can grab with no problem and "clock" the projector. Its kind of crazy how cool it runs. Im guaranteeing any thing I sell and for that reason I will only sell them with a 35w system. If you already have a 55w setup I will just discount you the parts you dont need but you run them at your own risk.

Why you see companies like lightworks running 55w systems is because the are using a FX-R projector which requires a LOT more dremel work to mount them in out headlights. Thats also why they ask double $ what I am. Also if something goes wrong with the projector your throwing away the whole headlight because they are permanently mounted. I use the Morimoto Mini because it cuts down on cost to me and you and if there ever was a problem I could just swap it out for a new one.

Is a 55w system brighter, sure but as someone who has run both 55w and 35w out of the same headlights I can tell you that a 35w system is ridiculously bright and hands down better then our stock system. If you looking for specs the 35w bulbs I use are rated at 3000 lumen output per bulb.

I will have pics posted of both 55w vs 35w as a comparison in the near future. Hope I answered that question, lol.

How bad is the installation? I assume since you're using stock shrouds that bolts right in. Are there ballasts that need to be mounted as well?

Having them in Black would be wicked - I'm getting a white Scab in about a month and love the black&white treatment.

If you have basic mechanical skills installation is a breeze. Basically you run the wiring harness, positive to the battery, negative to a ground. I will post pics of how I ran mine for a nice clean install. I also include a wiring diagram that helps explain the harness which you can see here - http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pdf/trs_tech/Heavy_Duty_Bi-xenon_Harness.pdf You mount he ballast and swapping out the headlights is simple. I can help anyone out who needs it and may make a "how to" video if need be.

I did take a few pics of them installed before it started to rain. Basically Im calling this the "factory" look because its how they should have came to us from the factory. Ill have more tomorrow night with pics of the beam pattern, weather permitting. You can tell from the pic of my shed, its not even dark out and these things are seriously bright.

Question for you guys who want them blacked out, are you talkin like murdered out ? I mean like everything black ? reflector, turn signal reflector, tinted amber side marker, shroud ? Im going to spray them tomorrow and just wondering what your looking for ?

These are with 6000K bulbs.

Ducati, can you take a picture of the 6000k in full darkness? I would like to see the tint. I'm not a fan of ANY blue tint.

I'm seriously thinking of trying to cancel my other order if SickHIDs is seriously 12+ weeks out.

Duc.... These look AMAZING.

For me.... I do want mine blacked out. But only the reflector housing. I guess a little smoke on the side marker would be good too, but definitely not blacked out.

Awesome work my man.

I hear ya man, I just dont get that 12 week thing. They must be a really busy company.

Theres barely any blue to 6000K. I also have 5000K bulbs which are pure white, no hint of blue, I would recommend that for you. I can get 4300K but then your starting towards a hint of yellow. Ill get pics up as soon as I can. I dont have the luxury of a garage so I gotta work around the weather. last week it was -15 at night and tonight it rained, lol.

Thats exactly what Im doing to a set tomorrow. Ill post pics when they are done. Between paint, tint and ccfl's theres really a lot of combinations possible.

My understanding is that it's only one guy! That's it. Just like you...

I would want the pure white.

Hey Ducati, I see that the Retrofit Source has a complete kit to do this job. http://www.theretrofitsource.com/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=227
Looks like everything you have listed. Check it out, is everything there if a guy wanted to DIY?
I do see that the harness you recommend in your link is the 9007. How come you don't use the 9008/H13 harness or is that just a picture for reference only?
