First question: Do you have two Raptors? I was following your other thread (Modded White 6.2) and this is clearly a different truck.

Second: How are the 37" BFG ATs working out on this truck? Just to clarify, the only thing trimmed on this truck is the flare (and possibly the liner unnecessarily)? No mods to the pinch weld? What shocks/perch? The wheels are Methods, correct? Sorry for all the questions, but with these tolerances things are close.

Thanks,
Rich

Edit: vanilla_gorilla - Any post tire shop pics?

Yes, two raptors. It's a problem but I'm seeking therapy.

On the new truck with the 37" all terrains, just what you saw trimmed in the picture was all that was necessary. Really, you might be able to get away without trimming anything. You can hear the tire slightly rubbing on the liner when reversing with the tires turned. That's really the extent of the rubbing. No pinch weld mods were done and I'm on mid perch running the stock shocks with Method NVs. Tires ride as smooth as stock. Very pleased that this was achievable without major cutting to the truck. My goal was not to cut this one up.

Do you think they would fit better or worse with the OEM wheels? The Methods have a 4.75" backspace and I believe the stock wheels have 6.09", so that puts the Methods a little over 1.25" farther outboard.

I'm gonna say better with stock measurement wheels.

While reading E63's build thread he talked about how the stock offset wheels kept the tires inboard versus all the 0 offset wheels. From what I gathered they seemed to help fit the 37's without rubbing.

SO the BFG AT 37X12.5X17, when mounted and on the truck, with load, measures just a tad over 35 inches.

As for rubbing, i haven't had any rubbing yet on the passenger side, just the drivers side, since I have some "Raptor lean" going on. I trimmed some plastic off, but i see that I am ever so slightly, on a rare occasion, rubbing on the metal behind the plastic. I'll be trimming the pinch weld just to be safe when I go off roading.

As for the spare tire location, the new tire fits like a glove, it's snug, and is a couple inches from the rear diff, but plenty of clearance. I'll snap some pics of it today.

As for ride, it rides really well, I would have to say the harder compound is much nicer feel on the road. and for MPG, i have already noticed about a 1mpg drop, but it's a Raptor...not expecting much from it. I think the ride and looks make up for that 1mpg loss. i'll get more miles on them and report back. I'll also post pics of my trimming, but i'll be referring to GBRown1867 thread on the trimming.

...more to come....
