Sounds like a messed up situation. I agree that you should get your own shock back, unless it's replaced under warranty. They can be rebuilt and a worth some coin.

As for the valve cover leak, why isn't that covered under the 60k mile power train warranty?

Got it back a few days ago. We ended up calling ford and they had somone come look at it. After a few phone calls They ended up covering 85% of the total bill. The gasket was covered. I do agree though what are the chances it would have happened on the way to the dealership....Seeing ford covered part of it I did not get any parts back because it was considered warranty work. Thank you all for the suggestions and support. From now on I will definitely be browsing the how to section and asking for advice before going through all this again! Now i can take some of that extra money that was set aside for the work and put it into some upgrades!

I also thought it was sitting on the floor when i got to the garage. When they took me over to look at it it was on the lift and extermly close to the floor but no sitting on it.
