Took the 11 in today for a oil change tire rotation etc. turns out the front driver side strut is gone. Then they come back out and add the valve cover gasket is also gone and oil is covering everything. No low oil light went off so they said it prob happened on the way to the dealership. Its been a rough day. and my 3 year ended at the end of july.

said around 2500 to fix everything. seems a bit high...

Thoughts? suggestions?

did not buy the extended warranty.... first mistake.

the only good side to this is I get to borrow my dads brand new 14 raptor. but who knows how long the 11 will be out of commission.

This is the cautionary tale for the ESP. Sorry to hear about your trouble.

How can a strut just be gone? Did you hit a pothole or something?

I honestly have no idea. i'm sure thats heard a lot but i have never launched it 60 feet in the air or anything like that. I looked into the esp last year and they quoted me almost 6000 dollars to buy it. sat right at ford and priced it out.

they are going to look at it again tomorrow see if anything can be done. i just did not really expect this under 30k miles. only other work i have had done to it is rear brakes and a new set of tires.

I just had my half axel (not sure what that is) replaced. My cv boot came off and was leaking grease. Mine is a street queen. So I guess stuff like that can just happen.

$6000 for an ESP? That dealer was nuts.

The second law of thermodynamics: "The entropy of an isolated system not in equilibrium will tend to increase over time, approaching a maximum value at equilibrium."

In other words, our trucks are trying to return to disorder and rust. Only time and money can resist the trend.

As for extended warranties. Negotiate! Go online and shop. Compare dealers. Lots of profit in extended warranties. Buyer beware.

They want you to pay ford price for a new fox shock! There prices are crazy I bought a new set of take off shirks for my 10' for $1000. Even had the dealer install the fronts because 400ft lbs is hard for me to get, cost 100 to have them installed! I was just charged 2 hours time to check my rocker arms at $110 h,so to change the bale cover gasket should only be 2 hrs time.

wait, am i missing something? You're missing a strut, as in the drivers side coilover? How could you have possibly driven your truck down there? It would be impossible to drive without your shock/strut.

If you're actually talking about the shock, your dealership is pulling a fast one and something went wrong on the lift and some sort of damage occurred.

Also, how the hell would a valve cover gasket go missing? Impossible...oh wait, this has to be a troll haha!

Has to be, or this is the most dishonest dealership I've ever heard of. Would explain why they quoted you 6K for an extended warranty. Good one haha
