Guess they had two years to work on an aluminum bed or is the raptor bed any different in the way it was constructed in comparison? Not sure on the cab.

If anyone knows how to break a bed, I've done it. :)

Common problem with some of these. They replaced my oil pan and seal last week. I guess that some of the composite pans were out of tolerance. Easy fix. They replaced my pan and let it sit overnight. Filled the next morning and brought it back to me with no issues since.

Just give it time. This is a completely new truck for Ford and everyone knows that there always tends to be glitches and issues with the first year, hence why some buyers stay away until things get worked out. Ford is learning.

I personally am waiting until 2019 before I consider letting go of my GEN1 and start looking at a GEN2.

$5000 guinea pig fee on all Gen 2's...

Same oil issue here....needs a new pan and seal....took a week for them to get the parts and goes in Monday for a 2 day fix....
Mine goes in Wednesday. The tech said there are many notes in the system. Several say they replaced the pan and they still leaked. He said its suggested to replace the PLASTIC oil pan then let the seal cure overnight and fill oil the next day. According to him they have had better results with this method. (Yes I put plastic in caps; because I do not agree with plastic oil pans- guess I'm old school)

Yes, they told me the same thing. 2 day repair.

Build date is right there when you open up the driver door
My build was early February. Noticed leak at 2300 miles. Took it to NYC Thursday. Oil level did not drop much at all in the 1200 mile trip. I checked every fuel stop and I was expecting to add oil but did not add any. Mess under truck looked worse than I guess it is.

Both Mag-Hytec and aFe make transmission pans for the GEN1 Raptors. Perhaps they'll do the same for the GEN2s. They sure seem to have a golden opportunity here.

I have the aFe transmission pan and the Mag-Hytec differential cover. Both increase the fluid capacity - always a good thing. I am very pleased with both, but the aFe transmission pan was a challenge to install due to a couple slightly offset bolt holes. I encountered that problem in July 2014, so they've probably corrected it by now.

UPDATE: I've checked Mg-Hytec's and aFe's web sites for you guys, and neither has a trans or engine pan for the 2017 Raptors. You might want to ring them up and encourage them.

Makes me feel warm and fuzzy when I read the last line of my service repair. Service tech evidently not impressed by the 3 skid plates.
