Every time i get rid of a Ford product, the keypad is the thing i miss the most. Very convenient when you want to leave your keys with the car....Airport, marina, gym etc.
:-O
I use the keypad every day and must rely on it when I'm somewhere out of cell service. I was told the dealer installed keypad is battery powered, if so, what happens when the battery life runs out? Glad I got the 24. The blank spots on the dash look bad but I guess you would get used to it.
I had not considered out of cell service area, but I carry a key/fob so not really a concern for me.
I hate having stuff in my pockets, so I use the keypad a lot. Wallet, key, whatever, stays in the truck when I'm working. We have 3 trucks, door codes are all the same. It's nice not having to have a key to get something out of one of them.
:-O
So I have a Jen Too and as everyone knows it takes under 5 seconds to open the truck using only a multi-tool. Yes, I’ve taken measures to mitigate this, but even with mitigation, it would just be more obvious and take a little longer- let’s be honest.
If they can get in this easy, leaving key/fob in the truck is asking for it to be stolen and driven across the Mexican border.
Remember the FRF who had his __brand__new__Raptor stolen at a hotel off I10 in S/A? because someone left the spare fob in the truck.
So that’s my rationale for not leaving stuff in the truck. That and the car literally right next to me got broken into and had a bunch of stuff stolen, very quickly, but -- they left his wallet which he had in the passenger front seat pocket on the rear of the seat.
That’s why I said I didn’t get it. I do kind of understand some of the reasons and as said above, everyone’s got a different set of priorities and all.
