If its a matching full size spare and 4wd i always do a 5 wheel rotation. then i know the spare isnt flat if i need it and the carrier works
also to get more out of a set of 5 tires and then your not stuck with an old spare tire. if a flat does happen you avoid driving on a new spare tire when the other 3 dont match tread depth. even worse if the flat isnt repairable
