Many of us have done the glare free. It’s a great mod.

As for the disappointment above re temp still displaying on screen after adding the temp on dials, I’m confused why you would not want that. How is that a detriment, please?
Just an optimization. I don't want it in multiple places. If its on a digital display, it doesn't need to take up screen space.

That's where I bought mine from, and it worked like a charm. was a little dusty but no scratches etc at all wrong with it and it had no marks from the screws. So I assume it is a new part and was just not in the box
Would you mind sending me the name of the vendor that you got it from? PM me, if you could?

When Ford had the bright idea to screw us on the dials, they had to integrate the temperature onto the screen. So, the 2021 trucks, which have dials, do not have the temperature on their screen at the top. You can see that on other vehicles like my wife's 2023 bronco with the digital dials. When they got rid of the dials post 2022, the temperature is permanently displayed along the top. So i was curious if you could flash the screen to remove the temperature since its now on the dials.
Yes, you can. There is reference in the Forscan spreadsheet on how to remove the digital temperature display on the sync screen. I have not done it because it doesn't bother me to have both, but I know others have.

You understand buying a used part is rolling the dice. It depends on the options that were on the truck. Just because Foreman was lucky it doesnt mean you'll have the same luck.

The temperature readouts on the top bar can be removed using Forscan. I removed them before I even got the digital dials for my 22. I hated the clutter, especially having the passenger and outside temperature so close together. I do not recall the coding but it is definitely doable.

The listings claim new, so i'm not 100% sure how they fall under the new/used territory.

I have a 2021, I think, maybe 2022, not even sure, damn I'm losing my mind, but it came loaded with security pack, heated wheel, etc. What it didn't have was the temp readout on the knobs. I bought a used one on Ebay for $300, made sure it exactly matched the part number, made sure it wasn't scratched as some I saw were, and had the dealer install it. They charged one hour labor and they did have to use the computer as the heated/cooled seats and heated wheel were not working after the install.

Awesome work, OP.
When you had your dealership do it, what did you have to tell them needed to be done? They didn’t push back on you for installing something not made for your model year? I just want to ensure they won’t say “can’t do that” or not know what they need to do with the computer to get the seats to work post-install.

I know its not like apple to apple comparison, but on the 18-20 trucks it wasn't on the screen and the popular mod was to add it so we could see it there. I get what you are saying about redundancy but it is funny to me that we always want what we don't have - I am the same as far as things missing from my truck, but having made this mod on previous models I am happy that it's on the screen as well in this one.

I called, said I have replacement climate control knobs I’d like them to install. They said no problem, it should take an hour. I dropped truck off with the part on front seat and picked it up later that day. service mgr told me they had to reprogram to get heated seats and wheel working. Handed me invoice, 1 hour labor charge. The original part was sitting in front seat.
