I'm only guessing, but you would think it would come with better offroad lights, special graphics, more clearance and larger tires with beadlocks installed, just to name a few. Maybe even come with a roll cage or seat belt harness style frame.

I don't know about more clearance because testing, but 37s, recaros, **** blue interior:banana-mario:, carbon fiber, special graphics, pretty sure it's going to come loaded. Maybe some extras like lights. Depends on whether they want to push the price up. :D I know, dumb question, but I think $100k is a real psychological barrier for many folks.

Not a chance. There are probably a decent number of people willing to pay a premium for V8 power over the base Raptor.

There are probably very, very FEW people willing to pay a premium for V8 power AND all of that other stuff over the base Raptor.

A nicely-appointed TRX is about 85k, and Ford will need to keep it in that range if they want to be competitive.

Like it or not, the truck market is a luxury market now. There is a very vocal minority on this forum that screams for Baja-style, no-frills SCABs. That group is not representative of who will actually purchase the Raptor R.

What's your thinking behind all these extra goodies besides a V8? I would agree that graphics and badging are likely, but I don't see why lights, and beadlocks would be more needed with the V8 than with the V6. It would actually make people think the V6 is less off road worth than it is.

And we already have a 37s package with the V6...are you suggesting that the V8 will come with 37s standard? I can see that being a distinct possibility, because I expect the R to be produced in smaller numbers, and Ford likely doesn't want to make 35 and 37s versions. if 37s on the V6 are popular, which it likely will be, than you don't want the V8 to be without, even if it's a negative on 0-60 times.

As for the roll cage and seat belt....no way.

Just a Gen 2 is $100,000 already up here. A R will be way over $150K probably close to $175K, you can still buy a small house in the arctic for that price, lol.

Just the regular Gen 3 will outperform the TRX in the desert, so I can't understand your logic about the R model. The R model will have to be way over the top of a Gen 3 or why even build one?

Well, when FORD first introduced the R model theory back in 2009, it was shown with offroad lights above the roof line in the box and offroad lights on the front, etc. I would think they would upgrade that idea exponentially, but hey don't forget, this Raptor R is still just a theory until I see Ford driving and testing one. I think they will change their mind and not produce it, but that isn't the question the OP presented.

Stop electing socialists. One of my good friends owns a business in Toronto, when everything is free, no-body wants to work. If you don't think that affects prices, you're fooling yourself.

That's a good question. With an easy answer. :D V8 snobs. If you put a V8 in a covered wagon, someone would buy it.

Whether it's snobs or not, people will want it. Heck, if you put the standard V8 around 350 HP in a Raptor, people will want that over the 450 V6TT model.

But I don't think it's just about V8 though, I think the R just needs to be more than the regular Gen 3 and people will want it. I think we see this already with the interest in the 37 package....people want it because it's more than the 35 package. So, I suspect the R will be the same as a regular Gen 3 with the SC V8, if it happens. I don't think they will add anything else to it.

Ford knows that people are happy to add more lights in the aftermarket. In fact, I suspect the only reason they have Rigid lights added is because they had a good deal with Rigid, who's getting a lot of good advertising from this.
