I could be wrong but from what I understand, because Ford doesn't have the parts for 37 builds the zone reps have been instructed not to give out any allocation's to dealers. The Zone Reps are giving out allocation's for 35 builds because they have the parts.
Then why did a bunch of 37 orders get build dates on Thursday? A lot of misinformation goes around from these dealers

Why?- its all about production numbers.. That is why they pushed VIN's on those of us who had no chance of delivering in 21-- its total BS... My dealers says...Covid, and Chevy and Toyota are doing the same thing.. that was all good until I heard Ford pulled the same crap when the 17 came out..
Its about that and keeping the line moving. If they have parts for 22's they will continue to build them. The 2021's sitting on lots will get their parts, it just takes longer. They are parallel paths... and 22's will get built and shipped before all the 21's are assembled on the lots. It's happening now.

I agree, While I have no insight into Ford's plant operations it's just reality from a manufacturing assembly line and logistics position. If they now have some parts/chips, etc to fully complete trucks on the assembly line, they will. While in parallel they will bring the trucks already produced and on lots back into a warehouse or repair facility and install the chips/fender flares etc that were not available at the time of production. Those trucks never go back to assembly line and it would not be good business to continue to create additional new trucks without all the parts only to install them later.

It's not about being fair it's about what are the best logistical operations to continue production and finish those on the lots which unfortunately is a much more labor intense effort of getting the trucks from the lot to a install location and completed after the fact. It sucks but it's the dilemma they (Ford) created when running an assembly line with missing components to be installed later.

To many folks point here, they shouldnt have produced them until they had parts on hand and they probably should have skipped MY21 for Raptors and just made all 22, a june release of orders for a truck that at earliest would have been late August/Sept would have been a normal early model year arrival anyway...

Somebody please correct my ignorance, but I thought a dealer could place an order for whatever they wanted. Whether the order is scheduled by Ford is another story. My dealer placed a retail order for me last week for a 37 package and I got an email confirmation from Ford no problem. According to my dealer that is no guarantee that my order is in the clear though.

That is correct. Your dealer can place your order, but there is no guarantee to build unless an allocation from your dealer exists. It might sit in unscheduled/clean forever.
