Butt hurt entitlement? Cheap bastards?

Not all of us were born with a silver spoon and most who aren't, know the value of a dollar and are willing to wait rather than make a bad investment. After all it is just a Ford truck. While you believe people looking for a better deal are "cheap bastards", I see the people who pay ADM's, on Fords especially, as some of the biggest idiots of today's society. Similar to people paying hundreds of dollars for Elmo dolls many years ago and people dropping $500 more than retail for the newest iPhone. I understand supply vs demand, but I'm not one to fall for the the "gotta have it now" mentality.

LOL. I negotate on a daily basis. It blows my mind when people get so emotional because someone else has the nerve to look out for their own best interests. If a dealer thinks he can get more money out of someone else, good for him and it doesn't bother me in the least.

I bet most of you guys bitching about "gouging dearlers" are easily offended when someone low-balls you when you are selling something.

FYI price sensitive customers are the worst customers because they have no loyalty. If you don't show loyalty to a dealer, don't expect it from him. Get over it and move on.

And yes, I got a MSRP deal over a year ago by looking for a good deal instead of bitching about it. IMO MSRP is still paying way too much, but I needed the truck then and did 't have the luxury of waiting until now when $5k under deals are happening.

It blows my mind how sensitive people get over what is just routine business.

It blows my mind that people think routine business should include taking advantage off people at any opportunity just because it's business.

Being a salesman and being an ******* aren't mutually exclusive, and frequently overlap.

It's funny how bad most Americans are at negotiating. I guess these dealership games don't bother me because I see them coming from a mile away.

I will say that for the most part, bargaining/negotiating is not part of American consumer culture. Really, the only two commonly purchased items where negotiation is expected are vehicles and real estate; most people, at best, only purchase one of those two items every few years... so they don't get a lot of practice negotiating.

For the most part, everything else that gets purchased these days is subject to bargain hunting (essentially passive negotiation); the consumer finds a product he wishes to buy, then searches for the best price on that product. It behooves retailers to offer their best price from the get-go, because if they're priced too high they'll never even get a chance to talk to the consumer. There tend to be places in every industry that have a reputation for offering the lowest price, at the expense of customer service; if you're okay with that and understand the implications, have at it... however, what I am seeing more and more (in terms of... call 'em... luxury items) is that a fair number of people are willing to pay a bit more than bargain-basement (though less than MSRP) in exchange for better customer service/support... however, not all goods will be compatible with that model (a lot of things are pure commodities that are sold on price alone).

You forgot one... buy a mattress. What a huge opportunity for negotiation.

You say it blows your mind when people get emotional when someone else is looking out for their own best interests and at the same time fail to realize those who don't want to pay ADM are doing just that. Looking out for their own best interests.

There must be something in the air killing off your brain cells. The amount of "wtf" content in your posts seems to grow on a weekly basis. I don't recall you going full retard when I first joined the forums.

When a dealer charges an ADM, I have 3 options. Pay it, go somewhere else, or not buy it. Getting pissed is a total waste of time. If a dealer can find a buyer willing to pay more than me, that is absolutely what he should do. That's called capitalism. Fixed pricing for everyone is a socialist ideal and results in higher prices because it eliminates competition.

So capitalism is ok, but free speech isn't?

Doubling down on that full retard condition are we?

Why is dealer shaming not ok with you? That's an option too, why do you have a problem with people you don't know shaming a company you don't work for?

When it comes time to sell our trucks, how many of us are going to ask for less than market because getting the most money for our trucks isn't fair to the buyer?

Hypocrites are hypocrites.
