I’ve had alcantara in my Porsches and my GT350 with zero issues. It holds up very well. For me the decision was easy, less about material or color more about increased side bolstering. I drove a 2018 raptor for about 40 miles and felt it was soft and floaty in turns. The side bolstering will help for sure.

i didn’t see fog lights in the order guide... where did you see this info?

There were informed people on this site first and then an actual Ford info release I read... sorry no link at hand.

It listed the ‘19 feature update to the Raptor such as shocks, seat option etc, and then said fog lights would be an after purchase accessory through Ford Performance.

The dealer tells me that he can't place the 2019 order for my Raptor with Ford until he gets an allocation. This is a pretty big dealer so I know he has sold a lot of Raptors. Anyone else been told this? I never know if I can believe dealers.

True (at least that is what I was told). Ford is not scheduling until September 12 or 13. Normally around the 8th or 9th of each month, the dealer will be given an allocation. Once they figure out how many they have, they will prioritize for that month. Hopefully my dealer gets at least 1 in September because I am first on their list. There is another thread on how it is prioritized in Ford once it is entered.

True! Dealers can not order without an allocation.

Actually, dealers can place as many orders as they like in the system. They can take 100 refundable deposits and make 100 build sheets but if the dealer is allocated 10 then its 10. Its not good practice but it happens every year somewhere. Also, the dealer can opt to sell its allocation to another dealer negating the build.

Ford will request orders from the dealer as their production schedule allows, and the dealer will select which ones they wan to send. Hopefully their orders take match their allocation amount and they submit in the order received but often times highest bidder may go first.

Until your order is officially submitted upon request and you actually have a VIN assigned nothing is solid. Until then its just an un enforceable handshake between you and the dealer.

Yes! Dealers can order whatever they want, but as customers we would like to know that the order is a legit order. And without an allocation it is not a legit order.

100% Agreed

To cover myself I had 2 orders in at one point and just went with the order that was pulled for producton first. Deposit was refundable on the other one because it hadnt gotten to the VIN stage yet.

Source: I have been victim to orders placed with out allocation and have worked with dealers who have opted to sell their allocations as well.

Same experience here. GT350 and many Porsches. Holds up just fine, I have no issues with that. Bolsters most important part of the package. I have a 2017 Raptor and the seats are my only criticism.
