The oil gauge inside the truck reads a little over the halfway point

That’s just your pressure and the gauge is a “dummies” gauge. If it’s in the middle the sensed oil pressure is in the correct range.

Engine needs to be cool and on level surface.
The oils needs time to drain back into the pan.

Should be a clear reading of an oil level and not a streak as shown in the picture.

Also, Don’t trust it had the proper level at delivery.
I would do a fresh oil change...run engine....cool down a bit....then take your reading on your dipstick.
Go from there.
Full on my 2019 was right up at the second hole (max) when I did mine.
Has not used or leaked oil for 8,000 miles afterwards.
Before I did my first oil change , I was not certain what the full reading should be or where I started....but it was not full and I don’t believed it was to begin with.

On dipsticks, I’ve always checked engine cold with engine off at least 8 hours for oil to drain back in pan.

My ZR1, I have to check hot, per the manual within 5-15 minutes after warm engine shutdown, but my trucks have always been cold.

What is the Ford procedure?

My problem is I live on a hill and my driveway is sloped. I must drive the vehicle down the hill to a level spot to check the oil

Not trying to sound demeaning but how are you taking the reading?

Pull the dipstick on a level surface. Wipe the dipstick clean. Reinsert dipstick and leave in for 5 seconds. Pull dipstick and take reading.

Your reading doesn’t look right. Looks like you have low oil based on the first pic. Strange how the oil is getting smeared on the dipstick.

Could you take a pic of the dipstick inserted in the engine?

In his defense, I have the same problems. I can check it first thing in the morning and I have oil smeared all over the damn stick, just like his photos. I've never had this issue before, I guess the stick is dragging on everything it's close to on the way in and out. No idea, but it is a challenge to get a clear reading. The hash marks are a joke too.

The transmission dip stick is difficult to read too. I had to file a better mark on it.

Yeah, it’s tough getting a hold of the dipstick. I bought a work platform otherwise you need 7’ long arms to reach the dipstick.

No offense taken

I pull the dipstick while on level ground, wipe it clean then reinsert with it inserted all the way. Wait a few seconds then remove, try and keep it as horizontal as possible

I use a small ladder as well. Dipstick is inserted all the way
