I have an 18 and just drove the 2019 there. The only difference I was impressed with was the hill climb feature. It works just like hill descent but for both up and down. I can see the utility of it after it got us through a couple of really steep/ sloppy muddy areas of the trail ride. The different modes were more intuitive on the 2019’s and the transmission shifting wasn’t as harsh, small niceties like that don’t make me want to upgrade.

I’m not selling my 2018 just for the stuff I mentioned above but hill climb was definitely a cool feature.

I upgraded from 18 to 19.
The live valves work amazing on and off road.
The truck doesn't roll at turns anymore.
Transmission feels better.
The whole thing feels more solid.
People always say, buy after they fix all the little things..... well, they fixed a lot for 2019.
In my opinion, the people that don't own one, don't know (just a test drive, doesn't prove anything).
If you in a big city, the adaptive cruise control has stop and go, which the 18 doesn't .
Plus, a 19 will be valued at more money later.
Just my two cents

Since we are getting close to info release on the 20, why not wait for that?

I have a 2019 and really have nothing to compare it to

That's a good idea since I am sure the 2020 model will have good upgrades as well

Any Raptor Assault attendees who have 2018's but drove 2019's at Raptor Assault? When I attended, the instructors said some guys who have 2018's are looking to unload them for 2019's. Is this a sales pitch by Raptor Assault? IDK, but all were impressed by the 2019 models.

I will tell you May 14th.

I decided i wanted a Raptor in late October 2018. My dealer had 10 - 2018's and 1 - 2019 in stock at the time. $3k off a $69k truck was much better than msrp on a $74k truck.

i am never going to be an off road guy. so to me, the live valve shocks were no impact as i was totally fine with how the 2018 road on pavement. Looking back, i am still happy with my choice to do the 18 instead of the 19.

my raptor assult in a few weeks will show me what the truck can do, but again, i doubt I will ever do it in my own truck.

What about the lean when taking corners? Again, I have ZERO experience with a 2018, but I did notice my 2019 tends NOT to lean when taking corners.

Mostly because like any product you have to jump in at sometime. 2020 will have something better, 2021 will have even more. And I'm fairly impatient, lol

From what Car and Driver shared, the 20 has a significant mechanical upgrade. No more 3.5.........

Yeah that’s the big rumor, will it get the GT500 engine. I think there is a good chance you see it in the Raptor, but I would also bet they keep the 3.5 as the standard engine and offer the SC engine as an upgrade option. An upgrade that would most likely push the Raptor up to and over 80k. Just a feeling on my part.
