Take the motor out and remove the broken bits. I never fixed the blend door. Just don’t have max AC.

2014 SE Raptor, same thing happened to me...
The noise does sound like a jet engine running and you can feel the rattle.
Took out the fan motor and found the part as others described. I'm guessing something won't work right now, but it's good to have the fan (i.e. heat & A/C) working again.

The most important part of this job is to have a ratcheting 8mm (and short) wrench. So tight, I only got one or two clicks when turning, so it takes a while.
...and of course the ability to contort one's body into unusual positions.
