Hahaha, straight from the mind of a harley rider. Thanks Reptar, gives me a little more insight as to why ppl actually buy those POS bikes....
Guess you didn't read all of my post. I don't own a harley bike. Have no desire to, and never will own one, nor any bike for that matter. There goes half your theory out the window
My comment was about the image harleys have brought on themselves, Ill say it again, its a stain on the image of all 2 wheel riders.
So if harley rides stain the image for other bike riders, what are the other "images"? The old fogies on hondas and kawasaki cruisers with the big plastic saddle bags going down the road with the radio as loud as it can possibly get on the bike? Stained their image? Or the idiot young punks doing a buck fifty weaving between traffic on a sport bike causing more danger to themselves and other drivers? Stained their image? Which group do you fit in? It must be one of those other two if you aren't in the fa**ot group of harley owners (by the south park reference you're getting your opinion from), so it's either old fogie on a *** foreign bike with blaring music, or young azzwipe trying to kill themselves on a *** crotch rocket. If you're arguing there's some other image of bike riders for those other two types of bikes, and not just the stereotypes, we'll you'd be a hypocrit to not acknowledge that all harley riders don't fit the stereotype of that south park episode either.
"The HD is the top selling F150 line" I dont think so buddy. I said nothing about "they should build a truck for just me" they offer 10, thats TEN, more model lines besides the HD, thats way more then any other manufacturer. If you seriously think that ending one line will hurt sales then you need to wake up.
Never said the HD was the top selling f150 line. Bet ford sells crap loads more base models to fleet orders for construction/work trucks. I did say it was ford's top model as in if you want the best of the best luxury package and every bell and whistle, thats the one that carrys the honor. And if Ford weren't making money on it, they would have dropped the harley name a long time ago, but obviously its working for them, and carries a better name and a more iconic american legend image than laramine or laredo or some other meaningless name like chevy and dodge. So there's no reason for Ford to drop the HD lineup just because they offer 10 other model lines. Now the platinum and limited, they'd be ones that would probably get the chopping block first as they're much more generic packages without the history and image of a harley edition.
If you seriously think that ending one line will hurt sales then you need to wake up.
If you seriously think that ending the harley line would help sales, then you need to wake up lol.
By the way I do own my own business and Im not gonna get into a whole my ***** bigger then yours pissing match here but I made 5 grand last week, how'd you do ?
ha you are a hypocrite. "I'm not going to get into a whole my d***s bigger than yours pissing match but I made blah blah blah, how much did you make?" And that has what to do with this entire thread?
Not sure what business you're in, but assuming you offer more than 1 level of service or product, take whatever is your top package, or top level product, whatever offers the customer the most amount they can buy, and stop selling it. Just remove it from your business model. Some guy on the internet doesnt like it and thinks its stupid. Don't worry, if you think removing your top level product or service will hurt your business you need to wake up. Wait, that sounds familiar
A real ford man doesn't buy a F150 because of what it says on the side and if he did he doesn't deserve one. Im speaking from experience, Ive owned 3 F150's in the last 10 years.
Then why does a REAL man buy a F150? Please enlighten us
And what makes them less of a man if the fact that their truck has a name on the side as a small detail among the other dozens of features the trucks have...whether its a HD name with fully loaded leather interior, 22's, monochrome, and sleek styling, or a dinosaur name with a baja suspension, flared fenders, and bulging styling? Since you're clearly a real man with 3 f150's of experience, please tell us oh wise one. I've owned 4 F-150's in the past 10 years as well, and order is in for #5. I just need to check with you since you have experience to make sure I "deserve" my truck.
My bet is Ford will choose not to associate themselves with that brand for much longer simply because the image harleys portray. Whether you agree with me or not I could give a flying shit so right back at ya bro...
I'll take you up on that bet, that you'll see the HD F-150 lineup continue up till at least the next major F-150 redesign. And even at that, it may only vanish for a year or two like it did from the f-150 lineup from 04-05 while ford capitlized on new truck sales for the plane jane models, then revitilized interest a year or two in with a special edition fully loaded package. Ford and HD have both been around for a loooong time (both since 1903, part of the reason for their alliance), and willing to bet they'll stay alligned for years to come.
Keep it civil guys...
How can you even begin to compare the Raptor project to some stickers and logos... When the HD first came out (and was S/C'd) it was something special, now its just a limited with HD logos. I would have stopped making the HD until a newer motor was suppose to come out like a hopped up EBoost or an S/Cd 5.0 or 6.2L...
Keeping it civil. No harm intented, just some spirited discussion. No intentions for anyone to get their ******* in a bunch, but gotta do a little ball busting when closed minded replies are posted.
And as for the Raptor vs stickers and logos? That arguement can easily go both directions. How can some shiny shocks, lift kit, and flared fenders even begin to compare to 22" rims, monochrome styling, and the most plush, detailed, luxury packed interior you can find? I'm not going to take that stance though, both trucks kick *** in their own ways, and there's really no comparison as one greater than the other. They're both ultimate trucks in their own perspectives. Check your history a little bit. The HD's were NOT supercharged till their 3rd year of production. And even when that did happen, it was a detuned lightning powerplant. It was never intended as a fast sport truck. The detuned L motor just made it adequately fast enough to get out of its own way. It could haul *** for a supercrew truck, but a 14 second truck isn't a ferrari.
The HD's were around long before the limited, and the limited actually frequently uses the previous year HD's wheels painted white. Not a valid arguement to say the HD is a limited with HD emblems. In fact a limited is moreso a previous model HD without the HD emblems lol. HD's for the first two years were N/A, and were about the overal truck styling, a monochrome paint job, big chrome wheels, a lowered stance, a unique exhaust tone, and the highest equipped nicest interior you could get in a ford truck. Oh, and some emblems, because every single f150 has emblems on it, so why not make them special and unique too. Long story short, there's a lot of attention to detail to the HD trucks, and they're updated EVERY year, not carried over from year to year, which makes them more unique in that aspect than most ford vehicles that are carryovers for multiple years in a row.
As for stopping to make it till another motor is out. Again no reason for that. Since the trucks weren't primarily about speed, Ford wasn't a dummy for continuing to offer every model they could, especially with 4 new engines to offer in their trucks. The L on the other hand, it got the short end of the stick and was killed off. The L was about performance as #1 priority, and the new powerplants didn't really support that, so it was killed off, and will hopefully return someday when a powerplant can support the L's reputation to return as a Gen 3.
Well tbo I hate that ******* show and i think maybe 1 of them actually is from Jersey!
I can speak for South Jersey that we dont act like that down here, but the Northern half might!
Im not Italian and I dont stick needles in my ass to look like an ape!
haha ditto. Proud citizen of the state of SOUTH Jersey. One of these days North Jersey will become the 51st state, because it's about as opposite of a state as you can get between North jersey and South jersey lol.
Quick test for you other out of state-er's, if you want to know which part of Jersey somebody is from, just ask them "What is the city?". If they say New York....they're a North Jersian, no matter where they're located on the map. If they say Philly, they're a true South Jersian.
