Am I the only one that likes the square wheel wells? Not on our trucks, surely, but always have appreciated it on GM vehicles.

I have never thought twice about the shape of wheel well openings. Some people are definitely bothered by them. Fascination with wheel wells on GM trucks always seemed weird to me.

Guys, it's not so much the shape of the wheel well/fender openings - it's the fact that the square shape does not allow for larger tires without lifting the hell out of the truck.

Because the fender openings are barely larger than the stock tires, GM has always limited owners' ability to upsize the tires requiring tall lifts to run 35" tires.

Lifting the truck is appealing to many but significant lifts also raise the truck's COG making it less planted on irregular terrain making it more difficult to drive safely offroad. Plus, if you don't like a really tall truck you're stuck with 33" tires or smaller.

Here's a Chevy truck running 35's - look at the open area above the tires (open fender space) because the lift has to be so tall...

F150 on 35's...

Change the hood, change the decals, add shocks, sort of, and now you have a serious GM raptor killer.

Found daily at Starbucks and front row at big McD.

Plain ********....

About 10 years behind a 2010 Raptor at that!

They know their target audience. I'm sure 90% of Raptor buyers only get the truck because it looks cool.
