Sounds like the prongs in your outlet are too loose so you're not getting a good connection.

Yeah, I actually have this same problem. I plug something into it, and the plug just falls right off. I have to hold the cord at an angle to get it to make good contact.

I will take mine apart, and see if its simply as easy as bending the contacts out a little, and I bet it is.

Out or in? I heard to bend them in with needle nose pliers (per: BIRDMAN). But I guess either way would work really.

Mine wouldn't hold a plug. Saw the fixes on the forum, but figured I'd have Ford fix it under warranty. I use it for all sorts of things...

Its easy to fix. I did mine yesterday. Just pull on the bottom of the silver panel (on the back of center console). The outlet has 2 tabs on top and 2 on the bottom. Push down on them and it pops out. Disconnect wire harness. Then I used a knife to separate the face plate. Take some needlenose and squeeze the prongs together. Took about 10 min total.

I took the the truck on a road trip recently with 28 hours of driving time with my kids. The 110v outlet was great for charging ipods, ipad, kindles, etc. It definitely made the trip a lot less frustrating.

I use it when I travel locally for work. I put one of the socket expanders on (turns 2 plugs into 6) and have had a laptop a mini fridge, 2 Ipods and my android phone charging at the same time. Should have popped something, I unplugged the fridge and the laptop until the rest had charged.

I've used mine like everyone else has, iPads, phones, and even a hairdryer while camping... but I've also used it to power my audio equipment for 4th of July parades. 2-15" Behringer cabinets, plus Denon mixing equipment (inside the cab).
