I agree with the optima battery statement, they are junk. Everyone I've had was a ridiculously overpriced dud. Just run the battery down and keep it discharged for a few days (or weeks haha) if you can and that should ruin it enough for them to replace it

not necessarily, there was a couple bad batches the went out, but they were all warrantied if you bought from an authorized retailer.

it shouldnt. the auto setting only turns on with ignition power, so if it is draining your battery, then there might be some other problem

good ground on all the light's installed? I don't know what I'm talking about.

Good grounds don't matter on the lights I installed in the rear bumper because I didn't wire them up yet lol. They're just bolted in place but not wired. Electronics on the truck are 100% bone stock.

If you leave the headlights on auto and its parked for a while it will drain the battery.

I never ever EVER use the auto feature on the headlights, but even if I did, it's set to 10 seconds in the settings, so 10 seconds of the lights on after the key is off should NOT drain the battery to THREE volts lol.

UPDATE I took it in Friday for an appointment, even though they were kind of trying to talk me out of making the appointment when I called them on the day the battery died. I was pleasantly surprised, I was in and out within a half hour. They put a brand new battery in it. Guess the tech took 1 look and saw the red dot, and checked the voltage and even after driving it for a week every day it was only 11.8 (and yes charging fine around 13.5-14.0), he swapped it out no questions asked.

The only thing that sucks now is the replacement batteries don't have the little indicator window. only OEM ones have that. But hopefully this one lasts longer than the last dud did..

I've had mine for 13 months, 9,800 miles and no problems with the battery, knock on wood. But I do garage mine so maybe that helps.
