The stock BFGs are rated to I think like 112. But again the BIGGEST worry is the DRIVE SHAFT SPEED RATING. It too plays in the speed limiter. 100-120 might not be a big jump for tires but that is for a spinning hollow shaft.

I think you are referring to truck with a 2 piece driveshaft... They are very dangerous at high speed... As for the Raptor I havent seen that the shaft speed rated... What happens with the tires is they break down when they get hot.. So you might take the truck over 120mph 50 times with no problems and those 50 times the tires have benn breaking down and the 51st time they blow and well you know whats after that... lol

100mph is all you need on road or off IMO. If you live in the desert like me, maybe 120 max. I rarely pushed my SRT Jeep over 120mph in the 5 years I owned it. Ha, ok...maybe a couple times but it was factory speed limited to 155!! I took it up to 190mph with the Supercharger + Limiter removed. Anything over 120mph is extremely dangerous.

Speed was a huge reason I switched to Raptor ie bigger, slower, stornger, safer than any car Ive owned outside of exessive body roll possibility's.

I'm not sure what my most dangerous driving experience was, maybe thunder rd iin TN with my Dad in his Viper YEARS AGO ie '94 or possibly driving a '97 S600 Benz at night with lights off via A1A in north FL @ about 165mph!! It was a full moon. Haha. Many other moments I shouldnt have made it through years ago. Im so thankful now to still be alive and getting a Raptor!!

In conclusion, if you want more speed just get something else as the Raptor is to big to handle those speeds safely nor was it designed for same. A kid driving his modded truck 120mph on a dirt road he used/drove that fast on daily (Indian tribe/land) rolled it and pretty much decapitated himself (only half body was ejected so you can imagine the damage when the truck started to roll @ 120mph) about a month ago. His friend was behind him and said his buddy that wrecked was still alive for 2 hours (somehow) before dying at the hospital!? I cant imagine the pain/suffering for the kid, his friends, and family. Not good.

Have fun but also value your life more than your truck.

120 offroad without a cage is just stupid, there is no saves at 120mph. Hell there isn't much you can save at much over 80...

I believe.
I believe that you go 230 kph (142 mph) in your Raptor.
I believe that your tires won't tolerate that for long.
I belive that a blowout at that speed would be catastrophic.
I belive that unless you apply mature judgment you are going to die.

Haha that was well said and I had quite the chuckle after reading it, to put everyone's mind at ease I never hit those speeds in traffic and would be next to impossible anyways unless I was driving on top of them, second off I was saying the truck is capable of hitting 230km with the 5 star as a answer to the person that started this topic in the first place and lastly I don't enjoy walking so when I do open her up it's with mature judgement that I use open highway to avoid being busted by the cops cause the excuse "wanted to know my top speed" almost never works lol
Back to the tire topic tho has anyone yet to have there tires blow at any speed for any reason?

Quicksand: "100mph is all you need on road or off IMO."

Pure, unadulterated, life-affirming wisdom. Anything over that and not on a track and you are overdriving some combination of the conditions, vehicle, and driver skills. And for what? To scare yourself into an entertaining adrenaline rush? Lunacy. Get laid instead!

I drove 115 and did not feel it was dangerous at all. Then again it wasn't the Raptor I was in...

Faster than 100mph???

So Im really not liking the fact that I cant push the truck past 100. I run a lot of back roads out here in Texas so there is plenty of room for it. I have heard you can reprogram the truck but it will void the warranty. It just doesnt feel right hitting 100 in fourth gear and know it has so much more left to give.

Stock tires are only rated for 100 Mph I believe. So, be careful or upgrade to some new shoes.
