You will know when you get 1.7s 60fts it feel like somebody ran into the back of your truck. I remember with slicks on my 454ss and 02 Lightning .
Oh, the good ole' days! This might have been my first truck to rotate while keeping the left front tire totally still. Overdrive pully's, Johnny Lightening dry ice kit, DOT slicks and the Raptor is still faster. It's incredible. My buddy just told me the other day, I can't believe it but this thing is faster than your Lightning. The HD trucks were just never that fast. They were trying to not impede on Lightning territory.

I tried 4H and quickly switched to 2H around 2nd-3rd gear the other day but my rear axle felt like it was all over the place off tView attachment 327478he line. See how slow off the line the graph indicates. Probably need to install some traction bars!!
Solid time. My 4.4 was all 4a. Never changed. It was spinning off the the line too. I haven’t played more with it.

Do you run 100% 4A in the 1/8th and/or 1/4mile too? It seems like my times are slightly slower running full-time 4A.

I ran two 0-60, one 4 then switch to 2wd then one that I ran 4H the whole pass. I ran a 5.2 leaving it in 4H and 4.6 when switching to 2wd after the 2nd gear shift.

i ask this from a completely ignorant on the matter perspective, but isn’t it a bad idea to switch from 4 wheel to 2 under full power/load?

I say this pretty much equally ignorant on it: I have noticed that switching 2WD to 4WD entails a little bit of time for the drivetrain to lock up and engage the 4WD. However, the switch from 4WD back to 2WD seems almost instantaneous. So I *speculate* that it would be harmful to change into 4WD under full load (truck actually won't let you, it will require you to let off the accel), but perhaps unlocking the drivetrain from 4WD to 2WD is not harmful?

Maybe you guys switching 2wd/4wd under load should monitor the front/rear power distribution image to see it the power is indicated as switched switched. There is no position sensor for hub position, so you’re likely not releasing the hubs under load, UNLESS the load is relatively light at WOT. The hubs are lightly sprung into the 4wd mode and are vacuum pulled into 2wd mode. My guess is that the hubs never actually unlock into 2wd while under heavy load.

When I make a pass the rear is down the the front is lifting but when I switch to 2wd under load the rear springs up and the truck feels like you just freed it.

Yup, that feeling comes from the leaf spring axle wrap when all the power is applied to the rear only. Technically speaking, all that motion wastes time and results in slower times.

The G3 coils and 3 link setup will certainly help improve the initial acceleration times.

Also technically speaking, the truck should be quicker in 2wd because the front drive system should not be turning. It just can’t put down the power through the all-terrain test tires.

Even if the 4wd launch into 2wd actually disengages the hubs, the front drive takes much longer to disconnect and slow, so the friction/fluid drag isn’t realized.

I’ve done countless launches with my truck and the quickest and most consistent times are done while running 100% 4Auto. Just sayin’.
