Thank you for sharing, OP. Just this morning, I leaned over my passenger seat and punched the door, which temporarily fixed the rattle. But, I like your fix better. LOL. Ill likely be doing some of what you have done in the near future. Thanks again.
Did you put the Ravelco stickers on your windows to warn thieves?
I'm debating doing it.
Pro: The thief will know there's a robust anti theft on the truck and possibly not try to break in.
Con: The thief will see what type of system to expect, possibly doing his homework before breaking in.
I didn’t think that my thread would have so many security based posts. But here I am. Lol.
Ravelco installed.
Had to drive a couple hours from home, but they had a really nice waiting room and the installation only took a couple hours.
Now that I’ve doubled down on security (Ravelco + Ghost...
Its hard to tell if it was a glove or a hand. All I know, is that there were 3 individuals that had entry to my truck and were able to start the it. The immobilizer shuts the truck back off and that's the only reason its still in my possession.
Thieves suck!
Here in Ontario, its basically a...
Thefts in Canada is off the charts. Especially in Ontario in the highly populated areas.
The Ravelco system is exactly what I’m getting installed. I have to drive a little distance to get it installed, but that’s a price I’m willing to pay for additional peace of mind.
How do you like it so far?
Raptor is back in the shop for the second time for passenger side window repairs, as well as a post theft attempt look over. Driving this little puppy for a few days. Lol
Last time they replaced the master switch panel (drivers side switches), but that didn’t solve the problem.
This time they...
Well, that didn't take too long. Ive owned the truck for less than 3 months (after waiting about 6 from ordering) and the thieves are back. This time without success. The immobilizer worked and the truck is still in my possession without damage, they tried for about 15-20 mins in the middle of...
Ask your dealer if you can change to a *hard* Tri-fold cover. You have the added security for whatever's inside your box and still have access to the full bed. I think many are mistaking the fact that you have a soft cover.
Added pics of mine to show how it folds up to the back of the cab, Vs...
Thanks for the video, unfortunately Ive tried the calibration method, as did the dealer. All that does is reset the tolerances for window bounce-back, which is a different problem altogether.
My window will simply stop working completely. Go halfway down, then its like I have no power to the...
I've been having an issue with my passenger window for a while. Not the "bounce-back", I know that can be calibrated, but the window just stopping on its way down or up. Then not being able to finish opening or closing it, until it decides to work again. Very frustrating. The worst part is that...
This was my initial thought as well. A blunt stop like that could throw things out of place.
OP, I hope everything lines up perfectly and its a quick and (relatively) cheap fix.
Couple new additions, I put on a cheap amazon throttle controller for the time being. Wanted to see if I liked it enough to buy the Banks Pedal Monster. I'm actually really impressed with the difference it makes. Nice improvement, although with this amazon unit. There's really only 1 or 2 modes...
Thanks Julien dude, appreciate it. Typically I like the blacked out look, but I wanted something to make that extra width *pop* on this truck. Any other color of truck and I would have gone with a black decal, but the black would just disappear on my truck, even matte black would be too subtle.
Ended up buying a proper 2 into 3 dash cam hardwire unit. Using fuse taps, I tied into fuse 20 for constant power and fuse 39 for keyed. Works Flawlessly now. All wires tucked away properly and the camera itself tucked neatly behind the rearview mirror. From passenger side its completely...
Spent hours last night installing a dash cam only to have it short out and blow the fuse. Put another in, and blew that one too. Terrible feeling when you're doing something and you have no means to finish it.
I pulled the entire power cord back out from everywhere I had tucked it, and cant...
Put the lug covers on. Had to cut 20 of the to length as they would have stuck out too far. Left 4 long for the lock nuts. They look good. Not amazing, I didnt even think about the tapered base, its still visible. But im still happy with the overall appearance. At a glance, they look like black...
Now that ive been driving this truck for a few days, I can confidently say that the 24 is a bit more refined than the 22 I owned (both 37). The look (personal opinion), the seats, the sound system, fit and finish. I could not be happier with this truck. By far my favorite to date.
Oh yeah, car thefts are big business here in Canada atm. Governments gives thieves a little slap on the wrist then they're back out stealing again later that week. I've had two trucks stolen from my driveway. First was a 250~Lariat BP, then got a 22 Raptor 37PP as a replacement. That was stolen...
Front of the truck got the treatment as well. The outer light decals were a royal pain in the butt to place, but so worth it to make that extra width stand out. I had everything cut in the Raw Aluminum color. Its very close to the modular bumper color in person. The pics make it show a little...
Had the graphics teed up and ready to go. These are a way bigger "pita" than i had originally thought to install, I have some experience with laying decals as well. I trusted that they were precision cut, which they were and they turned out awesome. Nice little pop of color.
Truck was shipped off to get tints done.
Then had the immobilizer installed. This system is wicked. I have no doubt thieves will try and steal my $hit again, this will hopefully keep it in the driveway. I have a few other precautionary measures as well.
