I prefer the sheet metal on the Gen 1 over the new look. I prefer the interior of the Gen II full stop. A perfect solution for me would be to swap out my Gen 1 interior and dash controls with the Gen II. Or get a Gen II with the Gen 1 sheet metal and a V-8.
IMHO, the Gen 1 exterior...
You bet they are a good dealership. They charged me nothing for all that diagnostic work because could not find the problem. They did a full point inspection, checked for codes, etc. but were unable to replicate my problem. They also checked to see that my battery was up to full strength...
55k miles, I dropped it off at my dealership this morning - Stamford CT Ford. Purchased the truck from them and have had nothing but great experience with them so far. They just called, but were unable to replicate the headlight problem. They will try again. I think they were just doing...
Very sneaky problem. Truck started fine when I reconnected the battery. Drove to the store to charge my battery a little. Locked the truck and went to a store for about ten minutes, then walked across the parking lot to another store. I noticed my trucks headlights were on, so I bagged...
My 2012 has its first electrical problem - the low beams were on all last night, jumped it this morning but I cannot shut them off from inside the car. Easiest solution for me was to simply let the truck idle for 1 hour. Then shut it off. The headlights were still on. But the truck...
The company claimed to be the same one that underwrites the Ford ESP policy's. To 'prove' it, they had my name, VIN and date of purchase on file. Not sure how this company got this info, but I guess it's not beyond the realm that Ford sold my data?
Have not heard back from the salesman...
Did a quick search and did not find much on this. The "National Car Care Center Inc" called me up and offered a 5 year/100k mile policy for about $2,100
They said this would be equivalent to the extended care I could have purchased when buying my car.
I can cancel or close this thread...
I know this is a hard question, but what engine do you think would last longer? The new 3.5 TT or a boss 6.2L with a Roush supercharger?
I drove a Ford Thunderbird "turbo coupe" with a small 4 cylinder 2.3 Liter turbocharged engine and I can tell you this. I had no problems with the car...
We put two carseats in each vehicle. What happens in an emergency if only one of you can pick up the kids? Plus it takes time to move properly installed seats from one vehicle to another
One thing. The back headrests on the scab get in the way, preventing the carseat from resting flush...
Wow, that is a thing of beauty. Three car seats across. Not sure how many other vehicles can fit three car seats in one row. Part of the selling features that my wife liked. We had two at the time I pirchased my raptor, but were planning on three. Something her A-6 could not accommodate...
Plus 10 on the britax. This was my setup when both were small. I have a scab and the girls had plenty of room. Now my oldest is in a booster behind the passenger seat
Hard to see from the pic, but plenty of legroom even with a Scab. One thing, I can't get my back headrest out, so the...
Which is why I love my combo of a bedrug and diamondback cover. Having driven a Ford Explorer for 14 years prior to buying my Raptor, I can say that I will never go back to an SUV. I really can't see the advantages an SUV has over my Raptor, other than hauling live animals that require an air...
Are you saying treunu covers look bad? Backflip looks and works fine. Diamondback looks great and works great. Don't know why someone would want an SUV version of the Raptor, but housewives would like it. Heavier vehicle with the 3.5 TT engine would be fine for them.
I know the article has one thing wrong:
How could the width be increased by six inches between Gen I and Gen II??? Gen 1 Raptor is 6 inches (or is it 8) wider than then it's F-150 siblings. Unless Ford is increasing the stock F-150's width by 6 inches, and therefore Gen II Raptor is six...
Just curious if you agree with me here, but I think Gen 1's differentiation (on appearance side of things) starts with the curved lines on the sheet metal - a wide truck that has no sheet metal lips or boxy angular bulges. A clamshell hood that melts into the front quarter panel. The two...
The GMC dura max was the first thing that come to my mind as well. The clamshell hood and smooth sheet metal on the front and back quarter panels are gone as well. I do not like the flat ridges near the top of the quarterpanels. I know they had to change something, but I do not like all the...
You come up against me in he desert, or any offroading situation, and you will wish you had a lifted RAV4 like mine instead of your low tech underpowered gen 1 raptor. If we bet our respective vehicles on the outcome, perhaps I could swap your raptor for a Ram 1500 after i win the race.
Definately want to put a lift kit on this new truck, which transformed my RAV 4 into an offroading beast. I kicked the crap out of my buddies suberu forrester on a bumpy gravel road, which gives me the confidence and experience I need to dust the Gen 1 Raptor.
I disagree, I have not warmed to the pig snout like appearance on the new F-150's, and prefer the dual vents on the hood against the larger one in the middle on the new Raptor. I also do not like the back quarter panel - there is a lip on the upper part as opposed to the smooth curve from...
OP, are you planning on buying additional lighting?
I am maybe the only person here who disagrees with the above statement. The 2012 OEM's are not nearly as bright as the 2013+ OEM HID's. I know because I purchased the 2014 OEM HID's and kept them on for two days, then switched back. The...
Looks great and much different than the standard two Rigid Duallys in each of the bumper cut outs.
Is the amber light bar something you would use on the street with other vehicles on the road?
Would love to see a beamshot of your set up. Ambers only, Duallies only, ect. Wondering what...
I replaced my stock BFG's with Duratracks and noticed slightly higher road noise, but they are better wet pavement. Would contemplate swapping these in two years for the new BFG AT's, depending on reports from next winter. I'd like to have two full sets of tires and rims.
