Holy crap... that's B.S. especially at under 50K miles...

I had a ground issue that I chased in a previous vehicle for WEEKS before finally finding it. Similar things were happening, wipers coming on without reason, headlights acting strange, and engine would even "hiccup" when doing WOT pulls. Turned out to be as simple as a loose grounding wire on the engine block that was WELL hidden from plain sight... how that affected all of that stuff I have NO IDEA, but once fixed, everything was fine.

Electrical issues will drive anybody insane, especially these days where the whole damn vehicle is full of relays and modules.

Good luck, hopefully the steering column module solves your problems...

They called and told me this.

Steering colum module Part $209.63
Labor $331.00

110v outlet Part $13.63
Labor $112.00

3rd Brake light Part $392.50 hahahahaha realy
Labor $50.50

1109.26
Plus tax

They also said that it may or may not fix all the problems!?! ???

I told them to just fix the Steering colum module.

I will prob just buy a recon 3rd brake light install my self
and say to hell with the 110v outlet.

They had no idea what started the faults.

What dealer did you take it to? Just curious..

Its a 2011 was early off the line.

Thanks Guys for info looks like im going to the dealer/stealer/

Hey question if there is a TSB out and im over on miles will they still fix under warranty?

Im at about 42,000 + miles

I have a 2011 not sure if it had water in it, but I had just gotten it washed and I noticed all 3 led's were not working. I didn't investigate the problem I just drove it straight to the dealership and they fixed it under warranty.

They replaced Steering colum module and that fixed all the problems.
I still need to replace 3rd brake light since I was not going to pay fords price for a light.

3rd Brake light Part $392.50 Labor $50.50

They also did the drive line recall with the new drive shaft.
Realy helped the feal of the truck no more clunk.

All total I paid 600.23

I have bought replacement parts from Tasca Ford. They are a Ford dealer who also sells real Ford parts at a discount on their website - tascaparts.com They list the High mount stop lamp (P/N AL3Z 13200 A) for $213.17.

All it takes to replace it is removing a few screws and unhooking a harness. 5 minutes of work will save you another $50.50 in labor.

My 2012 has its first electrical problem - the low beams were on all last night, jumped it this morning but I cannot shut them off from inside the car. Easiest solution for me was to simply let the truck idle for 1 hour. Then shut it off. The headlights were still on. But the truck started right up. Opened the hood, and after shutting the truck off, I disconnected the negative on the battery and shut down the entire electrical system. Was not planning on driving on Superbowl Sunday anyways. Will reconnect the negative tomorrow morning and take it to the dealership. The third brake light was on as well so I think it's the same problem as above.

Very sneaky problem. Truck started fine when I reconnected the battery. Drove to the store to charge my battery a little. Locked the truck and went to a store for about ten minutes, then walked across the parking lot to another store. I noticed my trucks headlights were on, so I bagged the second store and started walking twords my truck. I was almost there when the headlights turned off. So I went to the second store and went back to my track - the lights were not on. Needless to say I unhooked the negative battery lead as soon as I got home. To the dealership I go tomorrow. But I honestly thought that unplugging the battery might reboot the electrical system. Glad I noticed that the headlights are intermittent.

I'm glad you're having your dealer take a look, Shortbed. How many miles are on your Raptor currently? I'll hang around this thread to see if you need my help.

55k miles, I dropped it off at my dealership this morning - Stamford CT Ford. Purchased the truck from them and have had nothing but great experience with them so far. They just called, but were unable to replicate the headlight problem. They will try again. I think they were just doing the same thing I did. Using the inside headlamp control to turn the lights on and off. They will keep looking at it.
