Everyone's got their priorities but that's just me. With all the trucks I've been through, I feel that the features and luxury trim are cool at first but you tend to forget about them once you actually start using the vehicle and the "new truck" excitement wears off.
I have a few friends with Silverados and Sierras and they're great. Almost all half tons nowadays are pretty similar trying to one-up each other on small "upgrades" year to year. A truck is a truck. I'd just choose the one that you like best (visually/handling) because they all have their...
Awesome, thanks! Do you have three extension cords hooked up to the three heating devices or have you somehow gotten them to reach a single extension cord?
I just went to my local Napa store and they haven't hear of a transmission heater. Are your oil pan and transmission heaters the "pad-type" that stick on the outside or the threaded immersion ones that are installed inside?
Appreciate it, keeping the rust at bay is definitely a priority! Also, are there any known issues with the block heaters / cords on these trucks (2014)? The multiple recalls on the newer ones has me a little uneasy.
Even if the third gen does have a V8, you never know what Ford will mess up on the newer model haha. Also the 6.2 L has a pretty good track record reliability wise, the "newer" V8 will need a couple years in service for me to fork over the money and make the leap. Just my 2 cents
I'll check the service records and see if they were done recently, thanks! I travel mostly outside the city so a garage is not a luxury I have (pains me to see the Raptor out in the cold all night though :( )
The truck got an oil change done a few months ago but unfortunately I don't know what kind of oil they used! I can either fork out some money and have it done again or just pray that it was high grade synthetic haha.
Any of y’all have tips on care and maintenance for winter? Currently driving my 2014 Raptor (6.2 L) I got a couple months back as a daily driver and now the harsh winter has settled in here in Canada. I’ve always been a diesel owner so I’m not too familiar on gas engines (specifically the...
Great appreciate the tip! Would the reverse also apply here where you shift into drive before releasing the parking brake or does that not matter as much?
Thanks, I'll try that out next time! So engage the parking brake when in drive (idle) then shift into park? The incline is barely noticeable but I often park on muddy or uneven gravel roads so the truck is always in a weird position, especially now in the winter because of all the snow and ice...
Hey guys, I've had my "new" 2014 Ford Raptor for about 5 months now and it has been great, no issues. I did find that every once in a while then I shift from park into drive or reverse that it's not as smooth as it normally is and takes some more force to stick it in gear along with a pretty...
Getting everything finalized this weekend. Should have a truck in a month’s time given everything goes smoothly. Very excited! Made the purchase a little sooner than I expected though
Thanks! These guys are located in BC so I'll try and squeeze a flatbed transport over the the East coast if possible. From what I can gather they're willing to do a deal trade on it to save me the trip out west
Alright thanks I'll keep that in mind! Given this is a dealer vehicle and not a private sale that might explain the price. I'll see if they can do any better...
What do you guys think is a fair price (CAD) for a 2014 Supercrew with 120,000 kms on the clock? The dealer I spoke to is asking $52,000 but I have a feeling it's a little overpriced...what do you guys think?
Ouch lol, I’ll keep looking. I have a company truck I can take home for the time being so not in too much of a hurry. Hopefully something surfaces soon. I’m honestly ok with anything under $50,000 given the condition is good. The special edition red looks really nice too but those are probably...
