That would probably be the smarter way,but insurance for a 17 year old boy for a Raptor would be outrageous..plus I believe here in the great state of California the Raptor is considered a “Luxury” vehicle which adds an added fee. Plus I really wanted for the truck to have the 5.0 motor.

Thanks for the head ups on the longer wheelbase, I should’ve checked that out. I guess we’re going to have to keep it stock or fiberglass.

WTB Gen 2 parts for my son and I 2017 F-150 SCAB STX Raptor conversion. Picking up Gen 2 front and rear shocks from SThenry on here,but still searching for OEM UCA’s & LCA’s and axles as I imagine stock F-150 axles are to short. Also front fenders,hood,grill,etc..hoping we can get lucky and...

How well do the Deaver L84+1 spring a work? My son and I are doing a Raptor conversion on his 2017 F-150 STX.. has a retractable bed cover..plans are to possibly tow a boat here and there..but mostly his tools for work.

Kind of a oxymoron..but we’re trying to not spend crazy money…so far the stock suspension pieces haven’t seemed to be difficult to source or priced crazy..trying to decide what to do for front fenders..I like the idea of OEM Raptor but it may end up easier going with fiberglass.

Thanks for the helpful info! Like you mentioned I’ll probably stick to finding stock lower and upper control arms(unless I find a nice set of uppers used) and go with the Gen 2 shocks with corrected upper buckets from Camburg. Thanks again!

No input from the FRF brain-trust about the ADD mid travel front kit?

What’s the consensus of the ADD front mid travel kits? We were planning on going with stock upper and lowers for now. But would like to hear opinions if doing a mid travel kit would be a better direction. Was considering going the route of Deavers for the rear with stock Raptor shocks.

Looks great! I like the ability of the KHC being a bolt in design,but really don’t care for all of the laser cut KHC..probably going to go the route of the Camburg buckets that will need to be welded in.

Stock 2017 STX 5.0 truck with 100k miles. Considering my son’s budget I’m thinking of trying to find Gen 2 take off parts..thinking of going with the proper upper front shock buckets to be able to run Gen 2 front shocks. But we’re wide open for help and guidance. Thanks FRF!

Thanks,I really wish I could afford/justify a real Raptor..going down the F-150 conversion for our son is the only way to afford for him..ie insurance,registration and fuel.

Over the line!! In all seriousness I do own a Jetta diesel for commuting…only way to deal with the BS Cali fuel/living cost. I started a thread in Gen 2 suspension section and would appreciate and suggestions for this conversion. Thanks FRF!

Hi FRF,new member here. Born and raised in So.Cal(Agua Dulce) and my son and I are going to do a F-150 to Raptor swap. He will be leaving next year for lineman school so we have some time to gather parts and rebuild shocks if necessary. Truck is a 2017 SCAB 4x4 with the 5.0 motor. Trying to...
