    Roush Raptor Spun a Rod

just gonna say this. I'm not sure that I buy the reasoning for the spun bearing. Usually, that is going to come from an oiling issue or washing the cylinder down. hard to directly correlate that to the tune. That being said, the oem short blocks are easy to get. a long block is a different...

    GEN 2 Deleted

:anitoof: as someone who uses zip ties on his truck liberally, I have to ask... Did someone hurt you with zip ties? what did they ever do to you? If not zip ties, what would you recommend I use?

Need a good shop in PHX for the Gen 1

sdhq, 454 motorsports, or foutz would be my list of recommendations for the general phoenix area. Foutz campaigned the gen1 and gen 2 raptors in baja for Ford, and I hear they'll be doing the same for the gen3. Foutz is having a garage sale this Saturday, so you might be able to score some...

Turbo housing adapters?+21HP and +17TQ increase at the rear wheels!

:poker: Cryptography is the science of keeping information secure by transforming it into form that unintended recipients cannot understand. It's sort of a big deal when considering digital currency. :fuckyea:

I work with cryptography and own zero cryptocurrencies. decidedly no, but thank you. ;)

Raptor Assault Worthwhile for Experienced Off-roaders?

I forgot to mention my favorite story from RA... You'll most likely be told the story about "the guy that rolled his own raptor doing donuts" to illustrate why you aren't allowed to do donuts. I'm not going to spoil the story, BUT hilariously, a year or so after attending RA, I actually met...

Raptor Assault Worthwhile for Experienced Off-roaders?

I have a "little bit" of offroad experience. My $.02? Any time you can get instructor-led training, in-person, where you learn something is worth it. No, it isn't an "advanced" class. ( I've actually been asking that they do a separate "advanced" course for 3 years now) BUT, you will get...

Turbo housing adapters?+21HP and +17TQ increase at the rear wheels!

the HP numbers on their website are for the motor as a whole, you don't take the "gain" and double it because there are two turbos. :p sorry, couldn't help myself. :D it's supposedly 24 HP, which MIGHT be true at a very specific RPM, but it is certainly NOT across the entire powerband.

    Overland

The term that you're searching for is "PreLander". Yes, you can do it. Yes, you have to be careful of how much weight you put up high. SVC recently finished one, and there has been one on a few of the ExO runs in the last year. I'd probably lean towards Leitner Designs for the rack. If...

    So it’s the 18th

after a few rapid-fire unexpected life experiences, I decided that there was no time like the present and hit the fast-forward button on a build that I planned to spend 2 years on. I had intended to purchase a different truck to do the build but ended up doing the build with the raptor...

    So it’s the 18th

Ha. I have been asked "how much for the truck?" less than a few times. It has sentimental value for me now and I don't think that I'll ever sell it. Happy to toss you the keys if we're ever on a run or offroading together though!

    So it’s the 18th

1000% agree. If I knew when I was Raptor shopping that I'd take my truck this far, I would have started with something else. it was supposed to be my DD that I "left alone". No regrets.

    So it’s the 18th

Most of my friends that have Linked/backhalfed trucks that started as raptors Built them up as mid-travel / leaf spring trucks, mobbed the hell out of them, Rolled/crashed them, and then opted to have the truck built into a full-blown prerunner. (there really isn't a whole lot that you are going...

For those who went to a Tremor Super Duty...

100K. you can also ( obviously) extend it. If you're towing that often, you'll appreciate the Super Duty. I'd get the diesel short bed and plan to add an S&B 60 Gallon tank. If you go 8 ft bed, I believe s&b sells an 80 gallon replacement. The larger fuel tank has been my most favorite mod...

Turbo housing adapters?+21HP and +17TQ increase at the rear wheels!

Yeah, but if you took a picture of the stock adapters vs the SPD version showing the other side of the adapters, it is really noticeable and apparent. The SPD adapters have a smooth, wider chamfer/transition that makes a meaningful difference. I'd put money on the SPD adapters increasing flow...

Turbo housing adapters?+21HP and +17TQ increase at the rear wheels!

catted. I'm not sure that they make a non-catted version in stainless as a stock item. It wouldn't shock me if they agreed to make you a set though. Give them a call.

For those who went to a Tremor Super Duty...

to be clear, the sticker on my truck, brand new, sitting on the lot in '19 was a little over $69K. I paid $61K out the door, which at the time was a pretty smokin' deal. My main point was that the tremor is cool and all, but you can probably find a lariat without the package at a much steeper...

For those who went to a Tremor Super Duty...

so what you're saying is, 10MPG at $4+ per gallon is better than 13-17 at $3 per gallon? $1 per gallon less, plus an additional 3-7MPG is a meaningful efficiency difference. IMO the additional efficiency offsets a slightly more expensive oil change, fuel filters every 20K miles, and...

    So it’s the 18th

buying the raptor (or the Jeep) is the cheap part. Most people will also look at a "healthy" build and all they pay attention to is the price of the parts/kits. Guess what? if you cringe at supercar owners spending $1000+ on oil changes, a set of tires running $2500, or a brake job setting...

    Focus Raptor?

needs coilovers and knobbies. Maybe even a group B style light pod. Then I would totally drive it. I'd for sure be laughing the entire time too. I don't know that it would ever stop being hilarious to me. :evillol:
