Thanks! It might be referred to as a “fraptor” but yes it was done the correct way in my book. I appreciate the support! I’m sure it’ll end up crazy in the future. Whipple, mid travel, but until then I’m just enjoying it!
Short but sweet update to the build. Here is how the truck sits currently. It’s for the most part done. And I have been beating the crap out of it off road and it’s been a blast. Get a lot of odd looks when I fire it up that’s for sure. Doesn’t have the torque that the gen 2 has but the V8 growl...
Need gen 2 rear bumper. Located in clarkston Michigan! Had an oops on a pre run and need a new one. Also a tail gate too! Let me know what you have. Thanks!
Forged Offroad told me that the gen 1 will not work on the gen 2. However I have seen a few guys do it for the exact reason you mentioned for strength. I have not seen one right next to the other so I can’t personally say whether forged is correct or not.
I would be curious to see with the tire aired down to around 18psi and some side wall flex. That might get it close to the arm with OEM wheels. But I agree from these pics that they look good to go
SVC does make stock length with bypass mounts just ask Jeff directly as it isn’t listed on their website.
Also baja kits does as well I believe.
Cheers
For deaver, +3 eliminates the factory lift block and adds 1 inch of height over stock. +4 will eliminate the lift block and add 2 inches of height over stock. Just depends on how much weight you will have in or on the bed. A drop shackle will usually drop your rear height by about an inch...
If overlanding is your style then a good set of rear leaf springs to support the extra weight u will be having in and or above the bed will do you just fine. Deaver or icon are the two biggest ones. You will see and feel the biggest difference with the leaf springs. If u still want more after...
running a set of longer shackles is always good for making the rear cycling smoother. That will lower ur ride height a bit. Another easy way to add some weight in the bed is to move the spare (or 2) into the bed. Which is most beneficial if u ever have to use it on a run. Sucks getting it from...
I got my stage 1 kit installed no issues at all. With the lowers at the out most part of the slot I adjusted my icons uppers for the most amount of positive caster and kept camber and toe in perfect OEM spec. LOVE how it rides and steering feels great. The caster moved the tire forward and...
Icon springs would be your best bet. You can configure it with the add a leaf they give you for whatever situation you’re it. Bumps is really whatever brand you like best. You might be able to get a deal on both the bumps and leafs on a deal if you go icon. I’m sure some of the vendors on here...
Not needed. The new 3.0s have a bearing on the top hat that will make the angle correct once bolted in. Sell the shims with ur old shocks and enjoy the new ride
I ended up reaching out to the vendors who helped but also wanted some other opinions as well. Also it’s never a bad thing to have a thread on here so if others have the same questions the answer is readily available to them. Thanks for the clarification tho! That’s why the forum is such a rich...
Thanks guys. Talked to a few vendors on here. They all bolt them up out of the box with a slot delete and then adjust from there. Looks like I have about 1/4” of adjustment out of each as they sit out of the box and both said that should be plenty. Waiting on my krazy house slot delete kit to...
For those of you that installed your adjustable icon upper control arms yourselves with a slot delete kit, did you run the heims all the way in before putting on the truck and then adjusting from there? Looks like mine shipped with the max adjustment out of the box. Also, did you guys get the...
Looking for the 2 small support bars that go from the intercooler bracket to the outter portions of the stock gen 2 bumper. hopefully someone has these laying around
Thanks!
